How shuld I know?
Since they never tried anything else it's kinda hard to tell, no? Wink

But even if it is, is that a bad thing? I love developers that focus on what they REALLY know.

I didn't like gran turismo. I thought it was boring. As with Forza motorsport on xbox and others of the same style. I prefer arcade racing games. I can see how technically perfect GT is, and i can see why it appeals to most, but IMO stuff like Ridge racer or NFS are better.
If only they could use some of their attention to detail on a game that would appeal to me was what i was getting at

Word mate, i´ve never liked those realistic simulators. If you like racing so much, why don´t you just go drive your own car then? For me Videogames have never been about realism but about fun. I´m looking forward to Ridge Racer 6, that´s more my kind of racing game.

Uh yeah...While Gran Turismo has 500 cars, and a shitload of tracks, and is a really great game for a few bucks, a car costs, well MUCH. If you want to race it, then we have track fees, wear and tear costs, fuel etc..

Gaming is about escaping from our reality into another. If that reality resembles our (simulators, cars or airplanes or whatever) or is some fantasy world, that doesn´t matter. It´s a game. Why can´t realism be fun?

But you are entitled to an opinion..

Gran Turismo isn't much of a simulator at all though - so I find people who bring that up rather amusing Very Happy

Isn't the subtitle of gran turismo "the real driving simulator"

http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/B00009N2KS.02.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

OH YES SO IT IS. Prat. Evil or Very Mad

My original post was that polyphony haven't done anything other than driving sims, which is a shame. Take the new Neversoft game, "Gun" all i've seen of them is the tony hawk series which were ok to start with then got a bit tedious. now they've developed a game completely away from what they normally do and its a great game. I was just saying I think they should try to broaden their horizons a little thats all.

I'm not much into racing games, but for some reason I like GT4, so I have high hopes for this.
I just hope that they included some older bikes too and some bad-ass ones, and not just booring sports bikes. :/

I had a go at this and I liked what I played. Smile
It's just as good as GT4 when it comes to gameplay, graphics and controls. It was damn hard though, alot harder than when I played GT4 for the first time.
I only did a basic race so I never tried the career mode. I raced with some BWM bike 1200 something, and it was a powerhouse, maybe that's why it went so bad. It's problary better to start with something easy at first. Razz

I will be waiting for the english version.

I'm resisting the temptation of getting the Japanese release...but only just. I cannot wait for this and the new GTA coming to me.

bloody thing is rock hard, lol.

There is a fair amount of Jap, just the same as the Jap version of Gran Tourismo as this looks and feels excatly the same. Layouts, menu's, sounds are all like GT

LOL, GT4 isn't a simulator just cause it says so on the box, the ToCA games are also published like that and are much worse, GT4 is rather a VERY good arcade game. Anyway...AFAIK, an english version comes to market only on march, kinda like when the US GT4 came out.

Hmm...downloaded some other release of it, called "Tourist_Trophu_CHT" / Chinese Edition. It has no NFO and it comes in MDF/MDS image files. Any clue if its the same thing, just repacked? :[

So what's your take on the game outtanames?
And did you too find it really hard? I think it's great that it is this hard because now you really have to learn how to drive properly or else you will visit the fence quite often, or fall off.
That's the problem with most bike games, it's too easy to control the bike, it's just as easy as controling a car, and that's not right. But this game changes that and I love it.
Popyphony is really the masters when it comes to games like this. Btw, I wonder how long it will take before Microsoft makes a biker game on the xbox. Wink

I'm messing with racing games quite a lot, but mostly with a sim called Racer (PC, which tries to equal GT4 in terms of GFX, its better physics wise already), then GT4 and now this.
I admit it took me a few hours to get "good" in controlling the bike(s), but overall its the same athmosphere as in GT4 so you kkkkinda get used to it fast, managed many Silver awards in the License Certifacts so far (ATM, almost at final stage of License 3).
Regarding a parallel game from Microsoft..well they usually get bad partners Razz and the result is crap. IMHO Polyphony are the first ever to bring to life the dream of a perfect motorcycles game, a game thats covering all aspects in excellence.
