This topic is ONLY about having a complete computer freeze when mounting Witcher.
DON'T post if you're not using DT Pro Advanced and haven't read the nfo.

Right - Several people (3 as far as i can see) seem to have a problem where when mounting the image the computer just freeses. Everyone seems to be using correct settings and have tryed loads of stuff. I'll post what i've gathered so far.

I have tried -
Disabling all antivirus
Yasu
Deactivating drives
Killing all unrelated processes

From what i read one that had the problem even tried a complete reinstall! Im guessing this problem is a conflict between The Witchers copy protection and my hardware, therefore im hesitant to buy the game Smile

Well - does anyone have input on this? Has anyone solved it? Different hardware setups etc?

Am i reading the wrong info, because in my info it doesnt say anything about advanced. (To play you need to mount it in a virtual IDE drive in DT Pro). But i tried them all, DT pro advanced, DT pro, just DT, alcohol, Power ISO. DT just freezes my computer, while power iso and alcohol dont recognize it. I know the file is legit since i got from a private tracker, and none has the same problem as i do. I will just wait for another release, and if there is none, not a big deal.

OK Found a workaround. The issue is with images being mounted on a RAID setup using the Intel RAID ICH8R or something chipset. The workaround for this is to have the image file located in a non-raid configuration drive. For me, my external backup drive works fine. Same thing with the mini-image. Supposedly dtools folks are working on a fix for this issue.

I had the same system freezing thing when loaded the image file. Now everything works fine.

My specs:
Ryzen 5950x @ boosting 5ghz, Gigabyte x570 Aorus Master, 32gb G.Skill Trident Neo pc3600 ram, nVidia RTX 5080, SoundBlasterX G6, Samsung 980 Pro m.2 1TB and Hynix m.2 1TB storage SSD. Custom watercooling loop.

Wow i didnt know people actually use RAID. Only thing thats good for is for backup nothing more and even that is unnecessary.

Raid 0 > all

Even better. Intel Matrix Storage raid 0 using 4 harddrives > raid 0 > all

Whatever, let him think what he wants. Anyways, yes i can confirm that RAID was fucking with the image. I installed one PATA drive, unrared the image there, and everything went smooth from their. Fast mount and install. Thanks dethy.
