Elemental is a fantasy strategy game set on a world filled with magic and ancient lore. Rule a fledgling kingdom and expand it across the world through a combination of magical power, military might, diplomatic skill, technological advancement and bold adventuring.
As sovereign, you begin as the only being in your kingdom still able to channel power from the shards of magic, a series of mystical artifacts left over from the cataclysm.
You must decide how much of your power to imbue into your heroes as you build new cities, explore dungeons, perfect spells of ever increasing power and negotiate with friends and foes.
Victory can be yours through conquest, magical supremacy, diplomatic alliances or the completion of the master quest.
Was checking this out on GameSpy a little while ago, I like the idea of the persistent long-term battle. Will be keeping an eye on this one! So far away though... ;P
Holy shit! I read that they were going to reveal a new game but forgot all about it until I saw this. Sounds awesome so far and since its Stardock, are the preorders open yet?
Official site is up. No new info though, only a couple of new screens, hi-res variants of previous screens and general directions on the course of the game development.
New combat screenshot
The art direction is definitely weird
But here is a little bit...

Screenshots...
The graphics seen in the screenshots are still very early on. The lighting and such aren't really in yet. The idea is to convey a general style and show a bit what the game would look like.

New Image. The more I look at it, the more I dig the art style

This was an early engine test. The guys made me promise to put a disclaimer that the final game will not look like this and that it’s MUCH better looking than this.

I used to dig Feist a lot until it became apparent that his books pretty much follow some default outline like, start from youth, some teenage hormonal changes, grown man, some huge finisher.
Not that I dislike him, just that he's been knocked off from the top of my favorite author list.
Well, definitely better than that overrated Salvatore. I mean, just reading the Crimson Shadow trilogy made me end up pissed off with the number of times he repeats stuff like the Cyclop's lack of depth because they have one eye so they can't hit shit. I could've made a drinking game out of that. Yeesh.
Hmm... Till this moment I always pronounced it as Sins of the Solar Empire in my head And probably still be as "of a Solar" just sounds wrong in my head
