MPEG-1 and MPEG-4 ASP don't have multiple refs, b-pyramid, etc.
And yeah, Avidemux isn't perfect but they intend to address those issues in version 2.5, whenever that is. |

Avidemux perhaps.
I sometimes use Cut Assistant as a front-end to the CLI programs it supports.
But specialized apps for each format isn't a bad idea. |

I have a WD drive that's almost a decade old and it probably still works (I think ).
But I've switched to Seagate because they generally have a better price/performance ratio. And good warranty to. |

I use CoreAVC as the preferred decoder with input/output levels set to PC (0-255).
