| the game works fine if you just give it access to net, blocking it with a firewall seems to stop the game from working and you just get a carn't connect to server error. |

I have found the fix for the save error.
The patch is safe, meaning it is not what causes the error. The error occurs with Vengeance Steam Emulator v2.0 for HL2.
Install the patch (patch.exe).

Are you sure you have enough free space on your drive , as it unpacks and repacks the gcf files.
Also after installing the patch you get no save errors if you use the 1.10 steam emu. But I dont kn ... |
