Had the exact quicksave problem. Had modified skyrim and skyrimprefs ini files in My Documents. Reverted to original ini and everything was fine. This was before patch.

Click the purple button (I think that's the one) to the left of your healthbar, it makes the UI ignore loot below a threshold. If that doesn't help, I'm not sure what it is.
