just realised the line that states 'GCF05=half-life 2 content.gcf' has a semi-colon at the start so its ignored.

I can tell you that d3d9.dll is a dll file for DirectX 9 (Direct3D version 9, more specifically)... so it may not be SF3, but most likely a graphical problem.
I don't know how starforce really work ... |
