I read that to circumvent this bug one should assign dodge and parry to mouse buttons ..
I haven't tried it yet coz my old mouse broke and the current one I'm using doesn't have spare buttons :lo ... |

You can turn the QTEs off, no? But perhaps not while defending?
Afaik you can turn them off only for your attacks. |
