Why can't they just leave the option, from straight mindless arcade to 100% simulation and let the user decide how he wants to play?

Well the game says 5ms, i have no idea if its really 5 ms
All Source games show a latency of 5 if you set the cmdrate high enough. (AFAIK)

And latency playing on LAN is about 5 ... |
