I was talking in general, not really directed at you.

It's clearly a designed-by-suits GTA clone with almost nothing to offer that's not highly derivative.
That, in itself, is fine - except for the level of hype and development time. Good thing I didn't get caught up in that. Though, I must say, I expected more based on the few videos and previews I did manage to see.
Sleeping Dogs managed to keep my attention with a much tigher grip, for whatever reason. Probably because I didn't expect anything at all - and that I like martial arts combat.

ubisoft just isnt very creative anymore, they used to be in old times, but once they established their main annual franchises, they devolved to cashing in on rehashes and offering 10 different editions for every fucking game.
when i used to think of ubisoft in older times, i used to think of creativity, nowadays what pops in my head is just pure grind.

Having a fantastic time with this so far. I don't know if I will get bored in 2 days from now, maybe, maybe not. But right now I'm getting truly immersed in this representation of Chicago, which I think is very well done and designed and full of activities to do (some of them weak and/or repetitive, some others very entertaining). Also, the online component is better than I expected. Already got invaded twice and it was a really satisfying game of cat and mouse (the mouse being the invader generally), with many possibilities. The last of those invations could be seen as a partial victory, because I managed to find te sneaky invader who was hacking me, but then he managed to escape from me cause he was driving a very fast car
The story so far is meh, and from what I've heard it will stay meh, so I'm not expecting much from it. I'm progressing through it very slowly as I spend most of my time just free roaming and doing crazy shit in the very immersive city
Anyway, I don't fool myself, this is an unashamed clone of GTA games (the absolute kings of the genre), but a very effective one at that!

I don't really remember much from Ubi that was great, but I agree they've lost whatever they might have had.
It's all suits now, obviously

No way to invade friends?
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

I struggled at first to resolve the varying quality levels of Watch underscore Dogs. Its city is beautiful. I enjoy spending time in its open world. The architecture, the detail, the music on the radio, the re-created streets, the wind effects, the traffic and pedestrian systems… All this art. Isn’t this the magical 90%? Is Watch underscore Dogs too expensive to hate?
Then I remembered. Those things aren’t a game. The game is sloppy controls which cause you to constantly do the wrong thing accidentally with disastrous consequences; is inconsistently interactive world design; is a cover system whereby you get stuck on scenery or it guesses incorrectly where you want to move. The game is insta-fail stealth missions, wave-defense missions, escort missions, missions where what the character’s say and what the objective is don’t match up. The game is five crashes to desktop, including two which required me to reboot my machine before it would reload. The game is restrictive objectives which don’t make use of the possibilities provided by the open city or the hacking mechanics, and checkpoint positions that force you to re-watch short cutscenes or re-perform rote actions after every death. |

How did you manage to get the key for 1.50$? Tried to go through the thread to find more information, but didn't seem to find anything useful

Is there any meaningful difference between the Reloaded and the 3DM version? Is it faster? |
None that I can tell. That disablepagefilecheck command made the most difference on my system. It got rid of that terrible stuttering (especially when driving) for me, and made the game playable.

Running on a R9 290, no problems here (14.4 driver). Have tried both the 3DM and RLD "fix", waiting for my retail before i continue.
