seems like 2 ways to tell if it BE edition u have... through challenges menu by scrolling to see if black edition challenge and also through quick race... scrolling to the bonus cars.

To fix that install problem with the DX9C error you've to set the autorun.exe on the first cd to win2000 compatible mode. Then it will start and install flawlessly. I assume you all know how to set a compatibility mode do you.

Had to install it "manually" by extracting the zip files.. Really crappy, but damn nice game, but meh, now it has a biig ugly after-taste in my mouth after that installation hastle, sigh.

well i like the sepia tone you get with visual treatment, i have max settings @ 1024 with a 9800 pro 256, but i am suffering the shadow bug which was also in bf2.
i think its a ea/ati bug , but there have been 2 drivers released form ati since it first was reported in bf2 and no fix, so it has to be an ea fault i think.

Found the first bug, when I run the installer, I get this error:

yes th epixelated shadow bug was the exact same in bf2 with 9800 pro for a huge amount of people.
it has been months since it was first discovered in bf2 and now most wanted has it.

Honestly, I think it has to do with Nvidia cards being used to make the game. Nvidia probably cut a deal with EA and allows them to have free 6800's to work on the game or at least at a discount. So EA programmed the nice shadows for Nvidia cards. ATI gets screwed because they don't have the nice shadows. Since ATI hasn't fixed this in the 5.10 Catalysts it's probably an EA limitation for ATI cards. BASTARDS!!!!!!

tjhere is hope for you ati guys. the radeon omega drivers often fixed many of these shitty things that were done this way. i got my 7800gtx SLIs recently but up until then was the proud owner of an x850xtpe. i still love ATI, and it sucks when companies affiliate themselves with either ATI or Nvidia as it should be fucking neutral so all games run without glitches on all cards. my 10p worth..........
