Just released, hot off the press!

http://www.chanka.org/

Yes it does play commercial games, yes I have tested it out, runs great!

So far I have tested Ikaruga and Marvel vs Capcom, steady FPS all the way.

Oh yah, sorry if this is in the wrong section, didn't notice an emulation section anymore. Embarassed

Well I'd assume you'd also need to "acquire" a BIOS as well...

This is odd... cant get any games to run. i tried about 9 games including Marvel vs Capcom and i get the menu screen everytime. the tutorial says that this is when a game is unsupported. oh well.

Did you have the correct bios? And did you have the capcom hack? (Available on their site I think).

I got the ones that are in the tutorial. But not the capcom hack... I'll give that a go. Thanks.

I ran Ikaruga on it so far (it's the only game I have here).

Runs at a pretty steady FPS 25+

Their website has a list of games that work/semi-work/don't work. I suggest you check that list out.

Not sure about Win2k, I have XP Pro and it runs just fine.

too bad only works with winxp. Sad

"Well I’m going to try to explain how to create virtual units and how to play with the Dreamcast emulator. Before we do anything lets clear up something for those who are lost, the requirements for the alpha emulator are:
CPU with SSE capable instructions (P3,P4, AMD XP) 1.6Ghz or higher
Windows XP or 2003(WILL NOT work with other windows like 9x, ME, or 2000)
DirectX 9.0b installed
ATi or NVIDIA Graphics card with latest drivers
CD-ROM drive
A game backup in the form of a mounted ISO or CD would work
Can only be autoboot backups"

Doesn't work with win2k? Now that's just odd... Good thing about this Emu, is that compatibility list is very big... I remember PS1 Emu's, and their compatibility was very limited even months after initial releases...

I've played several games on this, it works good for something in an Alpha.

Btw this only runs backups, and not real GD-Roms unfortunatley (Is a pain, cause 95% of my DC game collection are originals!).
