Full specs will be probably posted tomorrow at the MWC
but here is little info
Quote: | The Galaxy S7 will come with a 5.1” Super AMOLED Quad HD display and will run on either Snapdragon 820 or the new Exynos chip, both version featuring 4GB of RAM.
The main camera utilizes a new 12.1MP sensor, and the microSD slot is expected to make a return. Also returning will be the IP68 dust and water resistance. |
The future is here now for only €699 and €799

I'm upgrading my old S3, because I let it fall and now the power button doesn't work as intended
going for S5 dual, as it is the last galaxy with removable battery and SD card, the S7 here costs 800eur, not worth it

S7 does have SD card slot. I'm using a downpayment plan. Doesn't end up being all that much more expensive after 2 years. Pretty ok deal if you ask me.

What a waste of money... guys, really? The value you get from the money is shit from these phones, they'll be obsolete in no time. And even then, what kinda stuff are you going to do with the phone to use that horsepower? Play Gods of Egypt?
Come on, get real.

Waste of money? man, i have a s2 which has become sluggish and simply problematic with random stuff just not working. It was about damn time to get a new phone.

You did read what i wrote earlier right? I can't afford a phone just like that. I use a downpayment plan over 2 years. And it honestly don't get all that much more expensive overall. It's a good deal if you ask me. But if i could, i would probably buy one of those if they are as good as you say and don't fall apart after half a year.

I bought the oneplus x some time ago and it's still working quite nice today just as the day I got it (I think 3-4 months ago).
But I do see your point, you've got an old S2 which needs replacing and since you don't change phones as often and plan to have it for a long time then you're doing a good purchase.

It's a good phone and it's cheaper than the S7, but where does it destroy the S7? You mean with it's inferior camera that has more megapixels?! The 1080p LCD display, compared to the best 1440p amoled screen on the marked? The Snapdragon 820 with thermal throttling issues compared to the european Galaxy S7 version with 8 core exynos?
Depending on what you require it might compete against the Galaxy S6, but there you won't have the advantage of the price anymore, because the S6 has dropped significantly in price.

Yep, i honestly don't have the need to switch phones every year or every second year. I use it until it becomes a hassle. And now, it's a hassle.

Just cut down the old one to a nano-sized chip until you get the new one.
A boxcutter and a steady hand should do just fine. ^.^

I got one and while I initially liked it compared to my iPhone 6, and while it is the first Android phone i've owned that I feel is up to Apple quality levels - The software optimization on the snapdragon version of the S7 blows right now. There are a number of games that either don't run at all, or run like shit on the US S7. XCOM has graphics bugs and is unplayable, and many games are a stutter fest. My iPhone 6 ran stuff better. Truly disappointing given the hardware in this thing. I'm going to hold onto the phone because I love it so much otherwise and hope they fix the optimization issues, but it's definitely a disappointment.

Apparently a lot of it has to do with Android 6. A lot of people with devices that have upgraded to 6 have noticed a lot of apps run like shit in 6. I know it's not the hardware because some games run great on the S7 like world of tanks or GTA:SA.

Did anyone go from G3 (or something comparable) to the S7? How big is the difference if you compare camera, speed and screen sexyness? Is it a ~350 euros difference?

My sis in law had the G3. Just the fact that you will be free of post processed sharpening and amoled makes the screen look 10 times better. Also it runs much cooler and doesn't shut down because of heat It's much faster and the OS is running very fluid and the camera is much better too, also video recording at 60fps is just something that you won't give up after experiencing it

Reverted back to iPhone after a few months. Every time I make the switch back and use iOS again i'm always shocked as to how much more responsive iOS feels doing normal things compared to Android. As good as the S7 was for me there is just something that I prefer about iOS.
