I've been alternating between my PS4 pad and a Logitech F510 to play on PC but sometimes i feel like the F510 is a bit weird to play later on, specially that lossy D-Pad.

I was looking (not decided yet) to get a new pad for my PC. I saw the official Xbox One black pad for Windows (With cable) costs like 45€ and i even tried it on a shop (not connected though) and feels somehow better.. Specially the D-Pad all "clicky", perfect for fighting games, but being "down there" instead of the usual PS4 pad feels a bit weird...But that's my opinion

What do you guys think?

xbox 360 gamepad.

normally i would say the xbox one controller, but you can feel that it's cheaply build. it has improvements sure, but also negative things.
somehow the vibration doesn't feel as good as one the old one for me. i had multilple replacements because the A button was only working like 7-8 times out of 10 presses, with some controllers even coming down to 4/10. only when pressed in the right angle and with full force it would notice the input. many of the xbox one gamepads i had also had slightly drifted analog sticks to the left or right.
none of the controllers were "straight". if you lay it on the desk, you can tip on the lower right of the controller and it would bob up and down on the desk slightly.

i still use the xbox one pad, finally received one which was ok, all sticks and buttons were ok, just the battery cover isn't sitting right this time, so i got a small gap at the back which i can feel with my fingers while playing. now the A button is acting again after minor playing for a few months. like 3-4 hours each month.

so for me that means that they are cheaply made, also made to break shortly after 2 years, or that there is no quality control at all. i wouldn't buy it again.

I really like the Xbox Elite, but it's expensive.

I use mostly the Xbox 360 gamepad (got 4 of those), at times the steam controller.
I'm sure there is better out there, but not as cheap as I got those.

XBOX 360...with USB cable.. Bluetooth works, but I don't want to change batteries on something that sits a few inches from my USB port.

Then get this. Best gamepad I've ever used at half the cost of the Elite, super well made too.

I use a DS4 pad, had a DS3 pad before, never had a console though.

The only annoying part is that some games will always show XBOX buttons. There are workarounds like with the Netherrealm games. But I don’t game much with a pad anyway.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

I'm still with an ancient 360 pad from 2009, it's collected dust for years until the veteran Driving Force GT finally kicked the bucket. Now I'm stuck with it again, at least until I grow back a third alien kidney to buy a decent wheel.

There are probably better alternatives around but for driving (and sports) it does the job fine. Can't really comment on the other genres since I always prefer the good ol' m&kb.

I'm also still on 360 pad, I'll probably wait for the Series X controller then buy it as soon as it's out.

I've stocked on 2 or 3 Logitech Chillstream as you can't find them anymore - has the X360 layout and cooling.

My wireless thingie for ye olde Xbox 360 controller doesn't work. Is there any way to connect it to the PC with cable? There's no USB output on the controller itself. Otherwise I'm going to buy a wired X360 controller, it's just 25 euros. The Elite controller looks and feels great, but it's waaaaay too expensive Sad

edit: oh wait the 25 cheap shit isn't original MS. Is that important?

I've been using the gamepad for years, so investing money isn't a problem if a new controller will last as long. The Elite is too much though. What would be the best for max 100 euros? I find it a bit weird the original X360 controller is still named best in a lot of places.

because it is, buy a xbox one controller and you will see and feel the difference in build quality. nothing you can buy these days will hold as long as the x360 controller, not even the overpriced elite controller.
check ebay for an x360 controller, it may be overpriced but still better then the xbox one trash.

Nope, you need that retarded dongle. You can buy those separate though... but you're better off buying an Xbox one X or Series X... whatever they call the new ones. Original ones that is.

Elite you don't need.

Frei, aren't the new ones supposed to be better? Or have I been fed lies about that?

since my last post nothing has changed, one RMA after another and mostly the A button is acting up right out of the box and no i don't use it wrong. same with the drifting/not centered analog sticks.
i don't know how many RMA's i have gone through now and all of them had the same problems, like i said mostly right out of the box, so no im not unlucky and no that is not the quality it should have. i don't even game and use it that much, like once a month maybe, if at all.

as far as i have seen the xbox series x controllers are just the same, just like it was with the xbox one elite controller. produced cheaply internally, just like with the normal xbox one controllers, add some fancy replaceable sticks and a travelbag and charge 130 euros for it. awesome.

but well, that is just my experience, if people like it and got no problems that is fine. im done with microsoft, just like with logitech. cheap ass shit.

Hmm that's not great. Really hoped they would put a bit more effort on build quality this time around.

I have not had issues with any of the MS controllers, other than the micro USB cable breaking. I hate those shits, what a retarded connector. But since new controllers are USB C, that problem no longer exists.

The Xbox One wireless V2 controller (with cable) is 55 euros. I can't find the original X360 controller anywhere and I'm not buying a used gamepad. Should I just buy the Xbox One V2 controller?

The modern Xbox One controllers (I guess V2?) and the Series controllers are Bluetooth compatible, in addition to the proprietary Xbox/dongle radio, so you don't need to buy the dongle for Windows.

buy it and test it, like i said it's just my experience. you can also google the problems and will find others with those problems.
i had working xbox one controllers in my hands too but those were shipped with a xbox console, maybe another batch? or it's just the xbox one controller for pc with usb receiver bundle which is fucked?
but it can't be normal, that mostly every controller had the same problems right out of the box. do yourself a favor and buy it from amazon, so you at least can send it back without problems if something goes wrong.

My old Chillstreams gave up, so I went to the store 100% decided to buy a DS4, until I saw a sale for the Logitech F710 - lots cheaper, wifi (don't need 3rd party app to make it work ) and vibration, still has X360 layout.

I forgot which area you are from but if you want a new (sealed) Xbox 360 controller give Gameshop in Den Haag (Schoolstraat one) a call. They have a site but not everything is on there and they might have a few in their shop. Or call some other local shops.

Other than that its indeed 2nd hand route. You can get a console with 2 controllers (and games) between 30/50 euro. But yeah I can get why you don't want to go that way.
