1440 and 27"?
I have 3 of them and I can't see shit on them, I had to increase the font size in everything.
I would either go with 1080p and 27" or 1440 32".
But if that's ok for you then the acer should be okay.
Think about it, how long in the life of a monitor do you sit in front of it, using it? How long do you expect the life time of this monitor to be? 5-10 years? In that case, a 512$ price tag is not that much, say, compared to a GPU that costs way more and has a much shorter realistic lifespan.
Not entirely sure about the prices in AU, but for 400€ you can get a pretty decent 4K IPS monitor 31.5" with FreeSync. You sure you want 27" 1440p? My previous monitor was that (without FreeSync) but I wanted it a bit bigger so I could view more on desktop. I now have 32" 4K screen with FreeSync, you will need to change display scaling unless you have glasses with telescopic sights built-in or are 2 cm from screen
Too bad there are no 34" or 35" 4k monitors, I would've made another upgrade just to run it on a bit less display scaling so I can see even more shit on desktop The next step is 43" but that's way too big as it would cover almost my entire desk.
I switched from TN to IPS aaaand....yeah, horseshit, "fancy colors and such"...my ass.
Wait, so there's not much difference?.. I've seen reviewers say good stuff about it for designers, even gaming IPS, but ofcourse IPS means blaclklight bleeding lottery.. And i am viewing the vids on a TN panel so....

Maybe too far?
I have 4k 27" and use it with 150% dpi which makes the fonts exactly as big as 1440p.
Anyway - You can raise dpi in windows to comfortable level
3080, ps5, lg oled

TN sucks, horrible colors and viewing angles. If you don't see IPS being better then you might as well go back to CRT.
I had both of them hooked up (TN IPS) side by side and yeah, it was different, but nothing fancy or "wow so much better".
It's pure BS.
Perhaps you are colorblind? Or maybe blind altogether.
Or just looked at a terrible IPS panel and extrapolating on all IPS panels, especially modern ones. Whereas TN panels are always terrible.
Well, it just didn't look better for me. It was like okay different but not necessarily better.
But hey even 240hz vs 60hz is overrated. It's better but nothing fancy. "Once you use 240hz you can't go back" BS.

My current monitor isn't great (it's budget) but I saw an insanely huge difference from my old LG 120hz 3D TN panel. I still have it next to this display and I wonder how the hell I managed to use it for so long - It looks terrible
IPS is far superior to TN, fuckin night & day difference lol. Only drawback with IPS, is the bleed, and not necessarily the monitors fault, as there is a big difference between that, and back light bleed, which is sometimes hard to differentiate from.
In an ideal world, I'd have the complete bleed free VA panel experience, with the TN speed, and IPS quality, but it's not an ideal world is it?
Then there is QA, which is practically non-existent on every single make of monitor out there. Some makes are better than others, but you will always enter the 'panel lottery', regardless of how much you spend on one.
When I got my PG279Q, couple of years back, it had a dead pixel, still has, very faint at top, and I never even see it really, but I was left with the choice of, returning it numerous times, in order to get (what I thought) was an acceptable variant, or better the devil you know. The latter is what I chose, as this monitor is known for horrendous bleed, and I have one that has none, nothing. Now, if I had sent it back for a replacement because of pixel, I'd still be here, hoping for one with no bleed, as I'm sure the replacement would have been much worse in that regard, as you never get lucky twice in the panel lottery.

If you can't see the difference between TN and IPS/VA panels then you must have an eye defect or something because the difference is night and day. I'm using IPS/VA panels now for ~20 years and will never go back to TN. For decent reviews I usually check https://www.tftcentral.co.uk/.
There is literally no reason to buy a TN panel since 5 years ago,
unless you're heavily money-restricted, which I think does not apply to Inter.
VA is the perfect in-between alternative for image quality and response time and it's exactly at this price range.
Budget:
AOC CQ32G1 27"
Your budget:
ASUS VG32VQ 31.5"
Above your budget:
ASUS ROG STRIX XG32VQR 31.5"
I had a curved AOC VA and I didn't like the colors and the dark to dark latency was quite big and had a purple tint imho. Switched it for my cheapo ViewSonic 1440p 34" IPS and I'm super happy with it. Though it's nothing for you @60hz.
Also curved is pretty distracting if you do graphical stuff on your screen
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
