Konami bookended that trailer with confirmation of a Metal Gear Solid retro collection, titled the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1. This will feature the first three Metal Gear Solid games and will launch for PlayStation 5 this autumn.

These HAVE to come to PC as well, surely!

Another remake, yeyyyyyyyy. The original, even emulated with some issues was one hell of a game.

Yeah, I played the Subsistence version on PCSX2 for the first time just a few years back, it's still a captivating game indeed with some pretty neat features and the right amount of charming Jap-ness. I would have liked it more if it had mouse controls/aiming, though Razz

Here's hoping it's a faithful remake with the correct types of changes (like Capcom does), preferably without replacing soldiers with walking pachinkos.

I don't mind a remake, simply because I haven't played MGS3 through since the PS2 days. I dabbled with the PSP version a little but never made it far. MGSV controls + MGS3 game = Me Gusta

I think the Delta name implies, that it will not adhere to the original's gameplay. Probably very different level design and mechanics, likely to use larger open spaces to win over new players.

The Delta symbol (Δ) was chosen because its meaning fits the concept of the remake project.

Delta means "change" or "difference" without changing structure.

Well let's see if they can reach at least somewhere close to Kojima's level and vision. A straight remaster i think they could do, but this? Well, color me quite skeptical.

I won't be surprised if it turns out to be a cheap ass outsourced project by some weird company

Virtuos are developing it. It's not a "weird" company although they pretty much only did ports so far but they assisted in developing some AAA games like Horizon 1 & 2.

Bad Confused

Also regarding the animations, they look slightly improved over MGS:TPP, jerky? Never played any MGS games before huh.

This will do the game good justice, can't wait.
