we had 35-38c for three weeks here. now (thank god) it's 20-25. i hope it stays that way.

We had temperatures over 30ºC in May, now plenty of rain and some (few) sunny days in June, and still not looking good

Not because of the golf stream. That is what keeps us from freezing to shit in the winter  It's just random good weather. Here in Oslo it has been over 30 C all weekend, but the weather will drop back to normal (~20ish) this week.
