Ok, but what does that have to do with anything? Just because there's bigger failures, doesn't meant this wasn't one. I mean personally I think the whole of Ubisoft needs to be burned to the ground and never make a game again, but hey... that applies to most AAA studios, so whatever.
it sold 1 mil copies for such a game is more than enough, this game is not AAA, gamers who were interested did buy the game, everyone who played it and the reviews are all great. its just another case of unrealistic expectations
How much of that was after being added on steam, and how much of that was at the discounted 24 euro price? Like, 1 million sales sounds a lot better if you ignore the details. The most important period for a game is the first month, and it only sold about 300k then.
If most of the 700k extra sales are at the 24 euro price, and you also take the steam cut out of that that's what? 17-18 euro? They basically made about the same revenue, or less from that as the first 300k.
And beside that, by the point they added the game to steam in august, they'd likely already decided it was a failure anyway.
