They added a lot but the systems are more shallow than the previous game. But hey if you like the sims, you'll probably even like this watered down version.

My sims experience is usually installing all the dlcs, spend hours looking and downloading mods, then play for 5 mins, go "meh" and never play again.

I don't know why but every time I try any Sims game, I play for couple of hours and then I have some kind of headache and I hate myself for even playing it. Sad

An adult version would be extremely cool, with really dark themes, drugs, sex, suicide, prostitution, living off the street etc - all the fun stuff of the adult world Laughing The series seems to get more and more aimed at kids, though it has always been leaning towards "silly" more than realistic, which is a shame.

I checked out some mods, seems like there's at least a few fun ones, one that adds drugs.. i might take a deeper dive into it and see if there's some fun to be had with this game. Found a recently updated version with all the expansions Wink In Sims 2 i remember having a mod where i could phone in a hitman, for a price. That was pretty fun.

Just downloaded the fitgirl pack, question.... last time i remember the sims 4 being incredibly weird because i noticed some weird ass SJW type of shit, some weird thing where even the sims themselves seems WAAAAYYYY to genderless, i couldnt even tell which were female or male. Was it just me?

Also im wondering whats the most fun Sims right now, dont know if i should try sims 4 or 3. I just wanna chill and mindlessly play what used to be fun in the sims couple of years ago.

I haven't played The Sims 4 in a very long time, but I remember enjoying the Sims 3 immensely more. The sequel is nicer to look at, runs smoother and has quite a few handy features that are objectively improvements, but the complexity and personalization/progression that 3 could (and still can) offer is unrivaled. That includes the open world structure as well with all its interactions, which was ditched in 4.

You can create somewhat masculine sims, but they do tend to look comical and too featureless. Mods fixes this (for your own characters at least). skin, eyes and hair is pretty crap in the original game.

I haven't played a lot yet, but i notice that neighbors are always; blacks and arabs (these are always young and very hip), then some old ass grey haired white person who also seems to have been given some cranky trait. How curious, and how expected. At least i'm glad i'm not paying for this.

I remember in the earlier Sims you could populate the houses with your own sims, then eventually make the one(s) you want to play and you will meet the ones you created.. is this not possible anymore? I found that quite fun because you can make e.g crazy town where everyone has ADHD, or is super social, or just white (the horrorz!), or whatever you want..

yeah that was the biggest thing for me where with the sims 4 I was like... why the fuck would we regress to this?

I suppose it's performance reasons so they can sell to more people, but damn.
Used to be amazing like that... now everyone exists only in their little instanced space separate from each other.

I'd like to play a bit of sims but I'm torn between trying out this latest sims 4 pack (haven't tried it since close to release) or trying sims 3 with some content and QoL mods or something.

Sims 4 must have *something* to offer, right?

Those 19 DLC's on Steam include Stuff Packs. Looking at the wiki there are 11 expansions and 9 Stuff Packs.

The Sims 4 has 9 Expansions, 8 Game Packs and 16 Stuff Packs so a total of 33 so far. Not even sure what's the differences between the EP and GP. They look very similar to what they add - new worlds, professions and other features.

Also until 4 all other games have 4-5 years between release. But 4 has been released 6 years ago. The Sims 5 will be released next year most likely.

They don't need real food or a place to live, they can just play pretend in the Sims 4 instead.

I never bothered to look on Origin at the pricing since I got the Sims 4 and a few of the DLCs for free so I did not think the game was that expensive with all the DLCs till I saw it in the Steam Content list as it just shows what a rip off the series really is.
