Good ol' eBay |
Did you try to circumvent E-Bay's cut by completing the sale elsewhere? If so, that in itself has always been against their TOS - whether or not you completed the transaction is completely irrelevant.
If you did so via their own messaging system to try to set it up (asking for the buyer's personal phone #, account #, name etc), they've got all the proof they need.
Next time be more sneaksy about it.

Yup, Eshit at it's best. Deleted my account last week, never will I sell or buy on there again. Wife is now doing the same, at last!!
Rid of that shit for good.
I'm not trying to be funny, but, you can buy anything NEW on there, swap whatever parts you want out, send it back and say your not happy, and you will instantly win, regardless of what proof either side has. Ebay will not give a toss, and will strive to close the situation as quick as possible, 99.5% in favour of the buyer, each time, without fail.
Awful business practice, and sickening for the seller of anything.
My wife sells clothes, and has had it done to her many a time, let alone, expensive PC parts.
They are the dregs of the barrel, and need to be washed away with vigour, and of that, they will, as far as we are concerned.
