It's a Falcon box with a Lite-On-drive, that has LT flashed on it.

Yeah all the kiddies on some of the xbox iso sites are going: "BLACK OPS WON'T BOOT DUURRR"  and it seems no one cares to explain to them why.
So for any one wondering why your Black Ops backup does not work after the update:
Dormant AP2.5 checks were activated for Black Ops, MW2 and Halo Reach and maybe more games. Even if you are on LT+ firmware they will not work, because the AP2.5 data is not on the .iso file you burnt. You will have to wait for that data to be uploaded to the abgx360 database, then run your .iso images of the games through abgx360 again and reburn.
So just chill for a couple of hours/days.
Also, if you are on LT+ and you try to boot any of those games and get a black screen, shut down your xbox right away. If you wait longer than 3 minutes you will get a disc unreadable error and might be flagged for a ban, LT+ added that 3 minute time period for protection.
Me personally, I just disconnected my network cable to not get the update right away, because I did not find any reports yet what happens with jtag units, and I'd rather not risk anything.

Well c4eva DID say that AP25 goes as far back as 2009 ... so I'm not surprise current games that didn't APPEAR to have AP25 actually do in reality.

Alright, quick question, since I've been out of the FW-flashing loop for QUITE some time:
My Live-box has a Lite-On that's flashed with iX LT - now, if I want to upgrade to LT+, what is the easiest way of doing this? Is there even an easy way? I let someone else flash it from stock to LT, so I don't have any of the special tools/probes/spear that might be needed..

If you don't have the tools; you're SOL mate. For one; you need the original key since the key can't be dumped from LT without soldering, then you need the probe for putting the drive into flash mode -- you may even need the connectivity kit if you don't want your 360 to power the drive.
