Quote: | PC version of Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition will release on November 5th at a price point of USD/EUR 29.99, not including the 3-tiered loyalty discounts
Nordic Games today announced that the Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition will receive a 3-tiered loyalty program for its release on PC on November 5th 2015. This loyalty program includes both, boxed and digitally acquired versions of Darksiders.
The following post explains the 3 different tiers of said NFLP for Darksiders on Steam. In other words: these are applicable for anybody who bought a Steam version, i.e. on Steam itself, as a boxed PC Steam key version or on any other digital platform selling Steam keys.
• Tier 1: everybody owning the Darksiders franchise pack ( http://store.steampowered.com/sub/18777/ - this version will be offline with release of the Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition) either from Steam itself, or activated through a Steam key (boxed and/or digital), up until the release of Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition on November 5th 2015 will get the Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition for free (i.e. freebie, gratuit, gratuito, kostenlos, gratuito).
• Tier 2: everybody owning the original Darksiders II (from Steam itself or activated through a Steam key, boxed and/or digital) up until the release of Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition on November 5th 2015 will get an 80% discount during the first release week
• Tier 3: For all non-owners there will be a release discount of 20% in place for one week after release
“But how does this black magic work?!?!” you may wonder…
If you are a Tier 1, you will find the Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition automatically as a game in your Steam library once it releases on November 5th 2015.
If you are a Tier 2, you will have an 80% discount usable on your purchase of Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition during the first release week.
If you are a Tier 3, you will have a 20% discount usable on your purchase of Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition during the first release week.
Thank you for playing Darksiders, and I hope you thoroughly enjoy the Deathinitive Edition of Darksiders II on PC.
Best regards,
Philipp (PR Nordic Games) |

its supposed to be because of technical problem on Valve's side

Or they could just drop the pointless greed and grant the upgraded build of Darksiders 2 to owners of the original Darksiders 2. But hey, "loyalty" and all that.

Sad thing is that I am still thinking of buying it just to support the possibility of eventual sequel

Interesting, seems I had most of the Darksiders content besides the soundtrack so if I were to pick that up for ~$5.99 that would get me the game for free but the discount of 80% from 30 reduces it down to 6 too so might as well wait and see the reviews for this updated release first as the discount will be for one week. (Yay 1 whole week for a loyalty reward, heh yeah I think Sabin is spot on with the above comment. )
EDIT: Might as well wait an extra five - six days, I'm in no hurry.
EDIT: NeoGaf post with some additional info.

What bothers me the most about things like this isn't just that existing owners are told to pay again, it's that they get put on a timer for it. It's no better than blackmail and, in my opinion, just as bad as preorder or "day1 only" restrictions. Buy the Version 2.0 build now for only $6.99! Act now because this is a time limited offer! 7 days later it will be $29.99! \o/
Sometimes I really do wonder just how much bending over I'd be willing to do if I actually still had my income and could afford to be fucked for "loyalty" :\ I like to think and hope that I'd still be just as pissed and obstinate about supporting practices like this.. but egh..

They don't really consider people like you Sabin, poor, low income, worthless working class individuals. A bit like the Conservative party.
They're more interested in those with said disposable income, and enjoy paying for loyalty bonuses, and laugh at those who complain about not being able to afford anything.
A bit like the Conservative party. I'm starting to see a pattern here....

"Running in native 1080p"
Finally. That fake 1080p I played it in years ago wasn't good enough.

Does this "deathinitive" edition still have that annoying stuttering problem that I among many others had?
