Okay my game room is fleshing out nicely. I just need a few affordable figurines of recognisable gaming icons - at least 12cm high. Does anyone have any ideas where I could take a look?

Hmm, Outpost Gamecenter in Antwerp used to have those. Don't think the Import game store at the Keyserlei is around anymore, they used to have quality collectibles.

As to web based, dunno never was into it much. Wanted to ask Inter, but it seems he removed me from his Steam friendlist and haven't seen him around here any more.

If you want to stay local, find import stores... they usually have more of that stuff than regular game stores. If there are still any around.

There aren't too many stores like that around here, I'm afraid, and if there were, I think they'd ask too much for such stuff .

I've been looking online for affordable collector editions - I used to be able to buy several of them very cheaply (like Watch Dogs CE) but there's only a few at a decent price and none of the statues appeal to me. The ones that do appeal, are sold at ridiculous prices by scalpers.

Also, it amazes me how many statues are nowhere near as cool as they could have made them. Take the Deus Ex one - I think most people would want Jenson in his trade-mark coat looking bad ass but no, they put him in his combat suit mid-activation of his shield. It looks like he has a spiky diaper on ffs.

EDIT: it seems I found a good store:

http://www.game-legends.com/products/toys-und-collectibles/figures-und-statues/3774/deus-ex-statue-adam-jensen

Lots of interesting ones for not too much money.

I might have room for one

I'd love one single tall-ish statue though - 30-40cm tall. Most are only 10-20cm tall which looks a little small on my shelf. I may get one of those Sideshow Toy ones - not cheap and not really game-centric but they're excellent quality.

Thanks Bob - I already looked on there though with not much result sadly :S. I ordered a bunch of other stuff off there but I think a lot of vendors are disappearing. Game related decorations are really decreasing and my Wish list is full of items no longer being sold.

Those figures you linked are cool but I already have a bunch of movie stuff and not enough game stuff - I really need game icons. The Batman figure is not quite what I need - I'm looking more for something like Fallout power armor, Doom marine, Link, Samus, and other truly iconic representations of games.

I really wanted this one but it's being sold for twice what it originally cost:

That Amiga book looks great, and i bet the content is even better.
Sadly it doesn't seem to be available in Germany. Sad How much did you paid and from where you got it?

Also that Pharaoh head on the cover looks familiar. Do you know from where it is?

@Bob Barnsen
I supported the Amiga book on Kickstarter but you should be able to order it from the main site:
https://fusionretrobooks.com/products/the-story-of-the-commodore-amiga-in-pixels_
Btw the extras are from the Kickstarter so I think the main site just offers the book itself.

The Pharaoh was made in Deluxe Paint, a very popular graphics editor on the Amiga Smile
Deluxe Paint also came with some bundled Amiga's such as in the A500 Batman Pack from 1989-91.

Sadly the hardcover book + shipping would cost around 42€. Sad
That's more than i would be willing for something like sadly.

And do you have that Batman package, or is it someones else picture?

Sometimes there are discounts on the site so maybe around Christmas the book might go on sale.
It's not my picture but yes my first Amiga was an A500 with the Batman Pack that I got when I was a little kid Very Happy

Ron should have asked Steve Purcell to draw the cover box. His box art was staggeringly good:

I got some physical copies of older games if someone is interested for some reason, not sure if they actually have any value but I'm sure we can work something out between us Humpers if someone happens to want any of them.
All of them should have the documents and discs inside.

Those are some of the best flight simulators on the Amiga for sure!
I also played alot of F-29 Retaliator and Knights of the Sky but Interceptor as you mention was probably my most played flight sim Very Happy

I think there was talk about Steve Purcell in the Kickstarter discussions when early talks about the box design came up.
I did not follow up on it so not sure if he was ever contacted but I agree his artwork is great!

Christmas came a bit early this year

This Amiga 1200 was made in 1995 and put in storage for over 20 years in it’s original box!
It has not been powered up since but the condition looked so good that I took the gamble and bought it as a stock A1200.

After setting it up on my desk, it was time to test if this thing actually worked after all those years.

The power came on and lights too but I got worried for a bit since the boot screen did not show up.
However that was only because it was booting into an internal HD (seller did not mention a HD) containing stuff from the Magic Pack.

I then discover this "stock" Amiga also has a 4MB ram expansion installed! Very Happy
I only tried a few games so far like Jungle Strike and Lemmings 2 but everything seems to be running nicely Smile

Yeah it's so lucky to find one these days in this good condition Smile

@Bob Barnsen: The A1200 was quite upgradable so did you ever buy any hardware upgrades for yours?
I know Motorola processors like the 020 in the A1200 get a big speed boost just by adding fast ram so I'm glad mine came with some already installed.
