Indeed, and when the DirCut comes watch it too, then you can rant on the Internet how much better the movie would have been if the studio didn't insist to keep it short.

I think it was Simon and Garfunkel- Sound of Silence in the cemetery, I'm not sure tho. The soundtrack from the movie has to be good, I heard a lot of good stuff...

Yep, just got them, they got me so hooked up while watching the movie

it;s the only thing, I can probably remember is the opening and the cemetery scenes...

Hallelujah is not bad either but those two songs are epic!

Will this have no 720 and 1080 release?

ah surely we can use the existing watchmen thread for this? im sure there is one... besides, this version is just more money spinning bullshit. its the dc with black freighter added far as i know, thats all... nothing new added... these guys have definately taken a leaf out of george lucas's book - 3 watchmen releases so far. wouldnt be surprised if theres an ultimate directors extended super cut around the corner...

BR is actually 4 discs...

http://www.slashfilm.com/2009/09/23/cool-stuff-watchmen-the-ultimate-cut/

probably 3xBR (1 for movie, 1 for special features disc, 1 for motion comics) and 1xDVD (digital copy)

oh nice. I had no idea. The wiki page for blu rays mentions zones, so i automatically assumed it was just like DVD's (but only 3 zones).
thx for the info.

Watchmen 2009 Ultimate Cut 1080p BluRay x264-CiNEFiLE

Length ............. 215 min 25 sec

For whoever is interested and can't wait. Smile I'd wait for a non-scene release for such a long title.

I just remembered that I still haven't watched the "ultimate cut" because I was waiting for a proper release instead of the pathetic 8 MBit/s CiNEFILE encode.
Was there ever a good encode? If not, has enyone seen the bluray on usenet at least?

I wanted to watch this so which one should i get Ultimate or Directors Cut ? Some say ultimate does not fit well within the movie .

162 min : "Normal", theatrical edition. Is the one "as seen on the big screen".
186 min : Director's cut, classical "extended" edition, as the director intended, with extra scenes et al.
215 min : Ultimate cut, same as director's cut, but with the Tales of the Black Freighter woven into (movie will switch from real life to cartoons, back and forth, at certain times), and some extra scenes will also be added (to put the cartoon into context, as in the comic book).

The ending still sucks and completely misses the main point the comics had.

The cartoon sucks.

I would go for dc or tc.
Movie is shallow. Pretty aged fx. No real depth.
It's like watching a 3 hour uwe boll movie. No soul. Just pretty carbon copy shots. And still managing to fuck up the ending.

I'd rather download the motion comic and get the experience that way. Movie is pretty. But it's shit.
