Im having a blast with this game, best horror game on this generation.

Very good gfx, nice atmosphere... big town to explore with alot of side-quests to do!

The saving/loading problem doesnt bother me.

9/10 from me! im still at 49%... going to do everything!

Bought it too.

The game is really worth the money, its very good IMO.

the only complaint i have its the "technical issues".

The game is constantly saving and when outside is constantly loading you notice the stutters.

And i had 2 freezes on a loading screen until now :/

BLaM! did you have any freeze on a loading screen?

Not on loading screens , never had a problem , but again that's probably the game's fault in your case..many technical issues.

In some areas game can freeze for a couple of seconds tho..and then continues..

Any you guys playing the PS3 version? A lot of multiformat titles tend to have issues on the PS3 version. I read the game is only 4 hours long which is a bit offputting. At least if I get it finished quickly I can trade it in before it loses too much value Smile

Playing on 360 , it's fucked up there too.. I guess both versions share this.. Laughing

I finished it in 12h , if you explore and try to solve side quests you'll have more gp out of it..story too. Smile

im playing the xbox360 version.

and as blam! said the game is big, i have 12 hours now and im at 49% of completion.

Still have side-missions to do, and the main story aswell, so i guess is around 15 hours or more Smile

But this technical issues is making me Sad , the freezing on outside doesnt bother me, but i had two freezes on loading screen that bothers me alot.

Im going to complete it 100%... and then wait for a patch to do the 1000G.

reading out some reviews and well the only version that HAS streaming problems is the xbox360 hmmm

so tested it on few combinations :
USb hdd .... lag
internal hdd .... less lag
internal Hdd but now the game is in GOD format.... no lag at all only a half sec one freeze when it saves like in Killzone 2 when it loaded a map

Nope , both ps3 and xbox360 has "technical issues" (freezing, etc).

Did you encounter any freeze on a loading screen?

Well i did some search because i wanna play this game and still have lots of things to do so i found this fix:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/997931-silent-hill-downpour/62231309?page=2

I'm using the USB as storage device myself, and never encountered a single problem. with game installed on the hard disk.

So install the game on the hard disk and use usb as storage device, im going to try this tomorrow.

well i am playing it in GOD format , because in it this game when it loads a map or auto saves it give you a 0,5 sec freeze like in Killzone 2 and i can live with this... but when i played using internal HDD or external HDD USB not only it gave a 0,5 sec freeze but a lag that ... was like 4 - 7 sec long after a map load or save and that was ANNOYING !!!

Yes, this is bad work by vatragames.

The game freezes because its constanly loading and saving at the same time, thats why i had two freezes on loading screen aswell and i hate when i need to turn off my console Sad

Im not playing a bethesda game! Laughing

Now, im happy , i just used my usb pen drive as storage device and i dont have any freeze/lag anymore when outside, i was surprised Smile

The solution is: install the game on HDD and use the usb pen as a storage device!

The game now loads using the HDD and saves on usb allowing the hardrive to have less work which improves performance.

If only i knew these before i started playing the game this way...

Back to the game Very Happy

Vatragames/Konami should have told this, until a patch is out...

uhm i found a solution for this lag but well its a bit drastic ehm.... i know why Vatragames didn't saw any problems... if you have XBOX 360S those new xboxes that have the 4gig flash memory as save game space... just chose this , and well lags where instantly gone ... Confused DEFUQ Laughing

but for now i am deleting this game and waiting for the PC version ... lets hope it will be better , at lest ME2 had better load times same was with DEx :Human Evolution

on my old Jtag this game lag like a mother fucker , on my new xbox with RGH it doesn't lag when you pick your flash memmory as a save space .. but its a BIT LULZ this situation makes me remember BULLY remake, on older xboxes this game could destroy your xbox and force it into a RROD Laughing

Played it last night on PS3 and absolutely do not regret buying it. Not played it much but I am enjoying it. The combat is pretty good although a lock on would be nice and the block doesnt help much either. I have to say its on a par with Dead Space when playing in the dark with the headphones on! Lag is occasional but only seems to be part of transitions between areas.

I like the multiple choice options. Not sure how things play out if you opt to save the Police Officer but I let her fall Evil or Very Mad

Hearing so much good opinions, I will give it a break and restart it with easy difficulty settings... I jsut fucking can't stand those annoying enemies. They are not hard.. but pathetic. I don't even want any fighting in this game with its terrible fighting system

Yes the music is amazing, the storyline is very good IMO.

I have 18 hours of gameplay, and im about to finish it... what a game!

Done all side-quests, im going for a 2nd playtrough to do the side-quest "digging up the past" and do 1000G .

Final score: 9.5/10
