Has anyone tried NewsDemon as their provider? I'm using Hitnews at the moment, but I want to leave them. I've previously had their 30mbit plan, but now I bought their fastest plan which is 200mbit (even though their site says they provide a maximum of 120mbit?). But my plan is still at the previous one, max connections are 9, but my new 200 plan should be 30 connections (and not capped at ~3 mb/s).

Emailed their support, and no answer.

So I found NewsDemon, seem to have unlimited speed and decent prices..

I used them years ago, and it was fine, but that was about 5 or 6 years ago

I was using eweka here in NL for years, it was awesome. I had to switch to sunnyusenet due to massive takedowns at eweka, it was awesome. Shit has again hit the fan, now at sunny Sad No idea what to do now and those indexing sites are mostly blocked for registration.
Good thing I don't leech much now I guess.

Currently using UsenetBucket.com based in Holland, good pricing and not too bad with incompletes. I'm using the usenet-crawler.com indexing site - seems to be reasonably up-to-date, especially with decoding the hashed usenet file names (you know that the names of main releases tend to be in reverse?)

I'm using UC too. Great site without the bullshit of the private ones.

I've been using the newsleecher server for a few days now, t's pretty good. You get newsleecher + access to their servers for $8.50 the first three months and $12 after that. You can create a trial account of 14GB (you have to enter payment details though).
Since I was using newsleecher anyway (cracked), this is perfect for me. I tried torrents, they suck Sad

Since when does Newsleecher offer usenet services of their own? Aren't they partnered with Giganews?

I wasn't aware they had usenet access untill someone on a forum mentioned it. I believe they use Highwinds, like many usenet suppliers, so DMCA takedowns are still a problem. Usenetcrawler, mentioned in this thread, is a huge help though. Sunnyusenet uses Highwinds also, it was worse for me. I have no idea how that's possible since both are supposed to use the same servers.

I think it's an excellent package, usenet + newsleecher. All providers are and will be hit by DMCA in time, so sites like usenetcrawler will be more important than the usenet provider you have IMO.

I'm still trucking along with Astra, even thought it's often frustrating. I just try to keep an ear/eye open for releases and try to get them as they come up, before they are taken down, and it works pretty well that way. If I try to grab old files, it rarely works.

I think the sites I pay attention to are GingaDADDY, Filesharingtalk, NZBgrabit, and OZnzb. I usually only move from one to the other when one of them says I can't download anymore files today. Razz

I'll probably stick with Usenet until its dying breath, as I've been away from all other methods too damn long, I wouldn't really know how to do anything else. Other than the obvious like piratebay and shit.

I need a provider recommendation guys. Been with usenetserver for a few years, but the takedowns were ridiculous. It's impossible to download any TV show from them nowadays.
Moved to astraweb a few months ago, no takedowns but horrible quality. Yesterday I downloaded two different versions of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" BD50 uploaded a few days ago and both were too broken for repair.

Alternatives?
