Well, if you're looking into a new phone then get one of the Chinese one's. I've got the One+X and I love it, cost me 1980SEK from aliexpress. \o/

Well an update.
Contacted the place we got the screen from and they are going to refund me the screen and sending the screen back will be free. Did not expect that kind of service
At the same time we decided on her getting a new phone, she's getting more hours at work. Boss has two dental clinics and needs help at the other one, travel time is paid and all so that's pretty sweet. Soooo we're going back to decent phones as an option.
What she's after is somewhat the same as her Z3 compact, problem is that not many have that great of a camera or the screen is too big and it needs to fit around a budget of 300€. You'd think you'd have more choices in that market but nope.
So what we come up with so far and she's going to test them out next weekend:
Huawei Honor 7 (the specs and reviews made her as much into it as her Xperia)
Xperia compact (even though we'd rather not for its flimsyness)
OnePlus 3 (my favourite phone, but can't test it in a shop and it's stretching it on the screen size. Rather stay under 5.5 inch)
LG G4
Samsung Galaxy A5 (pretty sure she'll dislike this one.)
So if you have experience with any of these feel free to share, or if you got any recommendations.

The times I tried the Samsungs in the shop they always felt a bit less responsive to the Sony's and LG's. Was a bit surprised by that.
Roms don't really matter to her, she likes to keep it as is... but it might be something to think of since it will most likely get passed down on me with time. So thanks for that, didn't even think about those things yet.

Yup, the honor is so far her favourite from the ones I looked up. Nice that the availability of the Huawei has increased quite a bit over the years. The mall she'll visit next week, all the stores have the model. Kind of expected it would have been harder to try that one out.

My fiancee and her mother both own a samsung galaxy A4 (I think it's the A4 or A5) and it's quite sub-par for it's price (they paid around 4000SEK for it a year ago). My advice is to stay away from it.

Go for an LG phone that supports Smartcircle cases.

Check Nextbit Robin, really cute design. Might be hard to get in Scandinavia though
