i will go to athens, georgia (right outside Atlanta). i've spent many months there already this year so i'm not really concerned about the area as it all seems pretty nice. Athens is a lovely little town which houses the university of georgia so it's all round a pretty pleasant area and quite liberal

i do not think that the US is a better prospect than europe (not a worse one either) but i do think the way of life is a lot more relaxed & secure, there's obvious flaws with health system/job security etc but i think these are things i can work around. my fiance has a very good job that will cover me healthcare wise.

i actually agree with you on most of the things you mentioned about uk immigration being a rotten problem, it's not the generic "i hate immigrants they take muh job" bullshit but there's certainly a lingering presence of hostile immigrants that have come over from romania etc that make the place very dangerous. i've been assaulted multiple times just walking to the local store by groups of people
sometimes it's difficult to remember that not everybody is bad and you shouldn't paint everybody with the same brush. i've worked with, i've had relationships with and i've lived with europeans and i very much get on with them more than most english people in my area. i support any immigrant that wishes to assimilate to a country no matter the background but the key is absolutely having immigrants that want to be in the country and contribute to making a better society... england started well and got lost recently so i'm not at all surprised about the brexit fiasco.

Assimilation, integration and tolerance are very difficult to enforce or implement.
With a little hope those segregated communities (in any European country) will become integrated with time.
There are many things that could be done; for instance banning private schools that only allow certain denominations like muslim/christian/jewish/etc. private schools running a religious ideology agenda. Children shouldn't be brainwashed in school and the curriculum's should not include any special religious angle beyond the kind that takes place in public schools. Religion should be an entirely private matter and take little to no room in public institutions (private schools should by default follow and fulfill the same goals and forms defined by the educational boards in each country.
We need to work with increasing tolerance within those closed communities, fight hard against the influence of religious extremists and leaders that enforce their own religious laws on the people in their communities.
I know there's been a string of arrests with subsequent deportation decisions lately. I've noticed the same goes for France, Austria and other countries as well.
The reason for the sharp rise in cases like these is the fact that Saudi Arabia are financing these islamist mosques that are then run by salafists/wahhabists using oil money.
We (as in each national as well as international justice organization) simply need to step it up when it comes to identifying and dealing with all things islamism; from deporting islamists/extremists to blocking/confiscating money from Saudi Arabian bacnk-funding and so on.
A muslim who came to for instance Sweden and got a citizenship should be able to experience the same rights and freedoms as well as obligations that the rest of the population has. That's an important part of integration/assimilation. By ending up in areas that are basically islamic enclaves they see very little of that. In Rinkeby, a suburb to Stockholm, there are patrols of young muslim men that enforce islamic rules regarding clothing and many other things. They're basically denying the citizens of Rinkeby the rights that comes with living in Sweden and are thus breaking the law.
But the growing fundamentalism, islamism and oppression against the more moderate muslims in those areas must be combated and destroyed since fundamentalism and extremism is steadily increasing by offering an identity to all the young men in those areas who don't feel they're part of their country (or their parents country of origin). They're easy pickings for the bearded old motherfuckers who love the power they can wield.
