Can't get that much excited for a remake, even if they were to implement all the mechanics from MGS5 in it. As batshit as it seems it will be, at least Death Stranding 2 will try something new instead of just playing it safe like this.

Bump cause the retard shitting up the forum inadvertently sent this thread (and who knows how many others) to the shadow realm when his posts were nuked.
UPDATE 5pm: GameStop has admitted it shared an incorrect release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater in its previous post.
A new post from the retailer has stated an official release will come from Konami, as we'd expect.
Further, as some fans have pointed out to Eurogamer, the original Snake Eater was released on 17th November 2004, so GameStop's post may have been a mis-reading - that date is a Sunday in 2024.

Fox Engine was really impressive for it's time thanks to great visuals but what is even more note worthy is the stellar performance, it ran so good even on low end machines.
UE5 can go fuck itself
Supposedly, UE is one of the easiest engines these days when it comes to toolsets available and required knowledge - it's not a coincidence that so many upcoming remakes are using it (MGS3, Silent Hill 2, Gothic 1, The Witcher etc.). The tricky part which many fail at is balancing the visual upgrade with proper optimization..only pseudo-wizards can achieve that
I agree about the good ol' snappy Fox, too bad Konami didn't continue to invest in its development because they were too busy chasing silly trends that had nothing to do with gaming.

I'd argue that other engines are also hard to optimize, but UE5 caters to "lazy" developers and so they simply don't have the talent at hand.
Same as with DLSS: In theory a super powerful tool to top of visuals, in reality used to barely get games to 30 fps and cover subpar performance.
