Still watching it We're knee deep in cringe territory by now, it's getting worse than Acolyte
If you just want a recap for shits and giggles I recommend the Nerdrotic videos
Rumor has it the show was cancelled internally already (good riddance).
But since the geniuses filmed two seasons ( ) this will be a prolonged suffering.
They had to redo the S2 ending to make it into a series finale (did they really think it was gonna be a success???)

I hope its true.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
Drinker is right, it is "their vision of what Star Trek should be".
In the early seasons of Discovery or Strange New Worlds they still had to contend with actual sci-fi elements and logic and rationality and somewhat respect the lore.
Now looking at the evolution of these shows over the years it becomes apparent this is where they always wanted to be.
With Starfleet Academy they are finally free of all shackles - this is the apex of their feminized, emotional storytelling.
Their destination is our nightmare. And that is why it has to die.
It's likely finally the end of Kurtzman Trek as a whole, one more season of Academy and two seasons of Strange New Worlds then in 2027 it is over for good.
No other shows in the pipeline. Enjoy this extended death rattle. Maybe we'll even get at least one more musical episode.
I have no strong feelings one way or another. I'm going to rewatch the old stuff whenever I feel like and Ignore the Furtzman era and couldn't care less if it is canceled. It was some of the worst TV ever made.
