ok maybe I WONT go through my whole mp3 players.... but yea some of those MUST be emo-ish and most are good. Some might just have the odd 1 or 2 songs by from compilations and stuff. Billy talent are a decent band, seen em live twice. They're not amazing but they're cool guys Smile.

That what I was thinking. Two completely different genres.

For the record, I don't really like AFI that much and I think MM is craptastic Wink

Found another that you might like, Vanna. Just got signed to epitaph records, with a full length due in early 2006. Early stuff sounds promising, but I imagine a decently produced epitaph album will be much tighter. From First to Last was the same way -- they're pre-Epitaph stuff was pretty rough but they sound a lot better on Epitaph debut Wink

Wtf? Alexisonfire rawksss!! Very Happy And i´m not sure about Bullet For My Valentine anymore...i liked their first EP, but their album is quite repetetive as previously stated, and their songwriting sucks =/

Oh well, since i know almost every band mentioned in here, i´ll TRY to add some more..no, they´re not all emocore bands, but maybe you´ll like it...Confused

Still Remains
Stutterfly
Beloved (You´ll like this i think.. Can be tricky to find maybe..)
Dry Kill Logic (maybe?)
The Bled
It Dies Today
Matchbook Romance (Confused)
Aggressive Persuasion
A Love Ends Suicide
Eighteen Visions
Hand to Hand

Oh well, they´re not all emocore bands as i said, but i think you´ll like some of them.

Edit: Oh just so you know, i got loads more Razz

Here are some that might be of interest. They are just a few off the top of my head.

Underoath

I downloaded that 'Underoath' album (They're Only Chasing Safety) ... quite good! Very Happy

I just found out that they're considered 'Christian' ... I've actually noticed that a fair number of bands in the emocore/metalcore/screamo/post-hardcore genres are so-called christian bands, although I can't tell it from their music ...

@weirdo, yeah ... I thought it was weird that you didn't like alexisonfire ... what album did you check out? Their older stuff has less melody, while their newest (Watch Out) is quite melodic IMO..

Crematory - Farewell Letter

errr ... from the sounds of them Crematory is a death/goth metal band ...

I don't actually know for sure because I can't find any mp3s of theirs Neutral

what kind of a band doesn't have mp3s on their website in this day and age? It's like they don't want people to hear them...

@sub: not bad at all Smile thanks for the link.

@nouse: i only tried alexisonfire's first album when i said that Razz (the first song is so promising [.44 caliber love letter] but after that it sounded pretty dull to me)
so i gave it another try ('watch out!' this time) and yes, that's more like it Smile

@_SiN_:
thanks for that list i'll try them all Twisted Evil

@Ollax
Yeah...im not into "emo" all that much either...just not my thing...if I wanna hear emotion shit, I'll throw on some Alice In Chains, Nirvana or Stone Temple Pilots or some Pearl Jam...classics but they KICK FUCKIN ASS...fast and slow songs, emotionally charged music - just heavy ass shit, in all respects.

Listen to Alice in Chains - Am I Inside...it might be Am I Inside? with a question mark you know.
Tell me thats not dripping with emotions but yet, he doesnt have to moan or whine to get that intensity, feeling and pain across.
Or Alice In Chains - Got Me Wrong...awesome fuckin song, awesome
Or how about Indifference, Betterman, Nothingman, Alive or Yellow Ledbetter by Pearl Jam and Black by Pearl Jam
Pure emotion and pain and acceptance and regret...awesome.

This is just stupid! Most music has emotion, there is no reason to invent a genre and call it emo. Its just pretentious bullshit from idiots that lack insight! If the music is good it will speak for itself, instead of labeling it emo to cash in on some miserable kids!

I hate the word emo. I listen to the music i listed before and alot of other bands, and it they never use to be called emo i don't call them emo now. The bands i listen to use to be called "post hardcore" or "screamo core". Then this whole emo fad came about and then every tom, dick and harry started calling it emo.

A nice fact for everyone. Although we say emo stands for emotional music it infact derived from the term 'emotive'.

To me the term "emo" is just the new "teeny bopper".

Bumping this topic since it was actually really good Razz
here's some of my music collection (it's really un-organised at the moment Sad.. also some of those aren't my stuff i.e. dido and eminem Razz)

If anyone has suggestions to add to them then it'll be appreciated. Most of the folders that don't have an album attached usually have more than 1 album in them so try not to just say 'wow you really should get xxx by yyy' because the chances are I already have it.

also reading http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Static_Lullaby got me laughin Very Happy
