I don't know why, but I remember the Mig-21 being called a "coffin" somewhere. Can't remember why, was it prone to self-explode, or something? |

Give it up for the mig 21, the greatest fighter pilot ever made. When this baby flew over vietnam for the first time, the American airforce was stunned by it's combat abilities and moneaouvrability. Truly a fine example of top soviet engineering.

well the A-10 is built to fly slow,and low,its not an interceptor.. its an Air-To-Ground attack plane.
put it toghter with an air escort (F-15,F-16),and the mig-21 would be down miles before it reaches the A-10 
oh,and P.S regarding the mig21,it was superior to all planes back in viet' war..since then its not worth that much.
IAF shot many of those down...

I dunno, I'd much rather have that crazy lookin tank than a jet that costs tons of money just to get off the ground.
I know tanks eat gas too, but gas is much cheaper than jet fuel...least thats what im assuming, could be wrong...taking into account the high price of gas nowadays.

But is it the same quality of gas?
I dont think u could use car gas in a jet....it just doesnt seem logical as the engines have to burn at high temps and I dont think gasoline produces that type of combustion...or am i wrong? I really dont know.

Jets got a special gas for them, they don't have the same gas cars use.
In hebrew the Jets gas is called Mazut.. dunno maybe it sounds the same in english.

oh...well, I didnt know that. I thought they had special jet fuel, not simple kerosine or gasoline...nothing that is easily accessible by everyday people.
