I think that is true.
I seen lots of people become religious when they are about to die or when someone they loved died. Their families don't always understand it.

True, two month ago my grandma passed away, literally in front of my eyes. Seeing someone you love die and being helpless to do anything about it makes you realise how week and insignificant you really are.

The whole experience of watching a loved one die and beholding the dead body to watching them being buried is an eye opener. It kind of puts life into perspective, as no matter how long you live or whatever you do, eventually, you too will end up in the ground Sad

Sorry to hear about your loss.

My Grandma from my Catholic side passed away my 4-3 yrs ago from cancer. I was very close to her. I watched her die as well. She was never religious in life but in the hospital she was. She was giving the nuns money to pray for her, light candles, etc. Then she would say to me “They just want money you know, but I better give it just in case”

Some people really panic and try to fight their death it can be really hard to watch. I think it is good if religion can people strength at the end. Too bad it is often used to control people.

The 2 sure thing in life. Taxes & death.

Maybe i'm being naive, but i'd like to believe that there is something more beyond the grave. I just can't comprehend the idea that my life is simply a quirk of evolution.

I think I am going to become worm food or fish food which is OK because that means I will be recycled. Hyperthermia is the way to go. You get so cold you feel warm and you just go to sleep.

I had a boss that went that way. Got lost on the mountian and made a snow cave, took off all his clothes and went to sleep.

Well you start off cold but then you get really warm. I have this weird thing about people messing around with my body or something. I would rather it not be found.

It's actually hypothermia not hyperthermia and (not to discourage you or anthing) it is not as comfortable as you think. You become paralyzed and then suffocate to death. Sorry Razz

Well I wasn't really thinking of freezing to death more like really cold water or something. I thought would just fall asleep and then stop breathing. Then get eaten by the fish. Then people would eat the fish and then I could haunt them. (Last bit is a joke)

Remember that CSI eps where a women was fed to a bunch of paranas. The fish had human chol. that was how they found out what happened.
(off topic I know)
It is the circle of life thing and the food chain. That is why I don't eat pork. They eat anything. Meat, shit, people. We have a Pickton pig farmer trail on right now. He is a serial killer who killed 50 hookers. Anyway he feed them to the pigs.

this might be a bit offtopic, but i wonder why some people "believes" in infinite life. What is so great about it? Think about it, if you would choose between death and living forever.. well, i would go for death. Forever is just quite a long time.

I guess it all depends on ones definition of religion. I equate religion with spirituality so I voted yes.

Most people would like to believe that.. but there aint no point in wasting half your life by practising what some nut wrote in a book "Just in case"

If there is a afterlife im sure following a guide that some nutcase wrote is not gonna get u there any faster.

Can you imagine today if som eone said "LOL LOOK MY NAME IS JEBUS AND I CAME TO DIE FOR YOUR SINS" or *Insert 1000 other crap things here that people followed in history*

They would be put away in a mental hospital

Don't waste your time thinking if there's and afterlife or not!
Just enjoy your life and get the best out of them, because nothing can change the fact that you will die someday, no matter what. So whatever happens happes, you can't change it.
