Razors slice really clean and the blood has a harder time clotting. Blood needs roughness to set off the coagulation cascade so it can begin to clott. Use a septic pencil if ya have one. If not use a bit of flour, it will set off the clotting factors.

In the lab we have vacu tubes that are coated with ground glass used for blood collection which work on the same principle. Some chem tests have to be done on serum portion of the blood in which all clotting factors have been used up.

Just stick some flour on it. It is too hard to explain.

I don't think that putting flour on an open wound is such a good idea. Although it will speed up the clotting, it's not sterile and will adhere to the flesh.

The only thing you can do is to apply pressure to the cut, has the same effect Smile

True it is not sterile but I don't think a healthy person is going to get an infection from putting flour on a cut. There are some bacteria naturally in flour but they are not considered pathogenic. My lovely Lactobacillus. More fungal strains depending on handling and how it is stored. But still healthy people with good immune systems I don't think have anything to worry about.

If our bodies were that fragile I think infection would be so much more common. Think about how how much more crap there is in dirt and earth. Areas around the mouth and nose have some of the most pathogenic bacteria and that is right on the body. Think about the exposure you would have every time you fell down and scratched yourself.

...but no one should listen to me, they should ask their doctor.

Like that's gonna stop me from shaving Rolling Eyes Laughing

I think electic shavers, the ones that buzz, are more dangeours. I shaved and i had to push it down hard to cut some of the hairs. Sad Ended up butchering my throat. Had a razor hickey for a while Laughing Sad

I can't ever use the plastic ones. It's either razor all metal and looks sexy or those Gillette ones that are partly plastic with changeable heads. They're cool. Though you gotta work it for it to work. Sad I remember slicing through my zits once. Not pretty. Crying or Very sad Laughing

The electric one has a screen over it, but it’s not working properly or something. Like, I really have to push it down and rub my face with it for it to actually work. Neutral And it shaves the skin and it stings a lot when I put on aftershave. though I do like it. Very Happy

Just to add my two cents to this topic: i had a cut on a knuckle a long time ago that wouldn't stop bleeding and someone suggested coffee grounds. It was ugly as hell and cleaning the cut later was a bitch, but it worked.

cut throat razor's give you the best shave imo.

What I do is use an electric shaver, shave off the majority of my beard (i usually let my hair grow till its thick) then use an old skool kinda razor (cut throat) to give me that smooth, clean feeling.

I find the normal razors dont give me a close shave

sycos back, weeee, not that i noticed that you were gone but i read some topic, you know which i mean.

so you really want a face as smooth as a babys behind but less dirty offcourse Laughing

if i let my beard grow i have troubles with itching (sensitive skin) and when i shave it off if its thick i get a bit of a rash Sad
