Yaay, SX´s FTW
Nice S14, i have a S13 myself
Any mods? |
Yeah swapped out the motor for a SR20 Turbo, also has basically racing coilovers that are worth $3000. In the picture the car is about 1 inch higher then normal I keep the suspension soft for everyday driving. Can't get myself to install an exhaust, it's just too loud and annoying.
I'm looking to get some nice wheels though, I got these because they are much lighter then stock + I don't have to worry about damaging them when I drift! |
Oh, so it was just a plain SR20DE before? Manual or auto gearbox?
My exhaust is composed of a 3 inch downpipe, 2.5 inch catback to a 4 inch exhaust. And it´s not that very loud at all.. But hey, each to their own
Oh, lightweight wheels, what are you going for? I hope Volk´s or maybe Gram Lights?
Watercooled 5950X | AORUS Master X570 | Asus RTX 3090 TUF Gaming OC | 64Gb RAM | 1Tb 970 Evo Plus + 2Tb 660p | etc etc

It's a manual of course! Yeah I'm debating an exhaust but I'm not talking about a everyday exhaust I'm talking about like a Greddy Evo or something performance oriented like that. Your lucky you didn't have to deal with a engine swap! Is yours running a Turbo?
Yeah lighter wheels would be nice I was thinking about Rota's. The Volks are nice especially if I got a staggered set, 19's in back 18's in front.
Deelix, Snow in San Diego!?
No way, it's not called sunny San Diego for nothing, it's 70 degrees with the sun shining clear blue sky's 85% of the year. I wouldn't imagine what it would be like having to deal with snow
But then again that's what my WRX was made for... |
LOL i guess I was drunk or something when I wrote the last post, ofcourse you had the KA before Hence the 240 name. Weird though, i mean the model was named 180SX in Japan due to the 1.8 liter turbo engine, 240 in the states (they figured Americans wanted bigger engines ) but in Europe 200.. No idea why, really, since it has de CA18DET as the Jap version..
And yeah, mine´s running a turbo aswell, manual is a given
Yup, Rota´s are nice too, check http://rotawheels.com/ , i know the guy who owns the Mini

YEAH! Turbo! How much boost are you running? My car needs to be tuned so badly, I'm having all sorts of issues with this new motor it just got swapped less then a week ago.
Yeah Rota's are indeed nice, is the guy with the Mini one of your friends? I'm not a big fan of Mini's, here in the states people associate them with gay people.

Thanks Its 16 years old with about 180,000 miles and still drives and looks like new with no rust anywhere . When I first got it it was like a creamy white but once I got the buffer out it came out a very bright white.
The only real modifications to it are the Wheels, Exhaust and lowered... The Spoiler that I added is a standard 190E Cosworth spoiler..The Pictures make the Mudflaps look shit, in real life they finish the car off great... I removed one once and it looked unfinished without it... Also, The Exhaust looks much better in real life.
anyway, not bad for the price Car £500 - Wheels £185 - Spoiler £30 - Exhaust £15 Total = £730 (about $1300) the rest was already on when I got it
Plus it must be the worlds loudest 190E (Unless you count a 190E with no exhaust at all on ) It has been de catted, plus silencers removed so technically its a straight through system to the back box which gives it a Very Very loud beefy sound
Its not bad for my first car but everyone seems to call it a drug dealers car, gangster mobile or pimp mobile hhmmmm.... My next car will be a Merc 190E Cosworth in black, Toyota MR2 Tbar Turbo, BMW 328i or Subaru Impreza WRX.
--EDIT--
Oh yea, forgot to say, its now minus 1x Bonnet Badge / Star as some little fucker decided to come in the drive and snap it off!!!!!!

Nice ride man, I wanted a RX-8 so bad especially since my bro had a RX-7 putting out 400+ HP and those things are so damn nimble plus they rev to like 182965 RPM. But after tons of research found out that RX-8's are maintenance whores. Gotta top of the oil that the rotary engine burns every month, engine is only guaranteed to last what 125k miles? Mazda over-rating the power output of the engine and then bending over backwards to customers who felt ripped off etc.
I'll post a pic of my brothers R32.

I premix so the 8 will last longer, and a good service department helps with all the recalls. Nothing beets the fun and feel of a rotary engine. Plus that I have the only one for miles around. Adding a little oil every few tank fulls is nothing, well worth the trouble. Plus 1.3 liter engine means low insurance. Pop it into 3rd at 65 mph and nothing can keep up. zoom zoom.

When you are young and want a car in Norway they force you to buy some old crap. Insurance is could be upto 3-4 times of what the car is worth yearly. So an alternative is to have the car in parents name. Gets cheaper. I don't have that tho... :\
