Most people who are against it just don't know what a real governmental persecution is. Most of the time they bash the government simply because they think it's cool and comes well with their che guevara shirts and the Rage against the machine cds (one of the best bands of all times btw, just don't take them seriously), without having real arguments to provide of why they're right.
Those people should visit Iran, Cuba, Russia or any other free land and they would shut up very quickly.
