Debt is the norm here. Nobody seems to be able to do without.

oh yeah btw.
You goes all go into a huge debt to pay it back later.
Why don't you guys work hard from the beginning, pay what you can afford and avoid the debt. If you can pay a debt back, you can also avoid one to start with, much cheaper.
I am a good studier, i get good points, but i dont have time to work a lot. So i work in summer and i can survive a year with what i earn in summer (+/- 3000 euros) and some small jobs here and there like organisations where i get 50/weekend, earning 300-400 a year with my website. I just work when i have a little time, or i try to make quick money with some poker scams on the internet, friend of mine deposits, i register free, get the free 20 euro cash, all in against him and he cashes out:p
But you have to sacrify stuff for it. I have a shit car, 15yr old nissan (always carpooling with 3 friends and splitting the fuel costs) and using a bus or train if possible, i dont have fancy clothing, i drink beer and no fancy cocktails, i dont have an ipod or bling bling bling cellphone etc.
And even with my shitty income i can still manage to have a normal social life, go on holiday (car and tent, but still fun). You are 21-23, it is normal you dont have the same luxury as your parents, they are probably 50 and had to work 25 years to get that luxury.
On the other hand i have friends who get shit grades, do every year twice etc, but they work in construction for 2 months and miss every lesson. They make money, they can buy fancier stuff, but even they cannot buy the same luxury as their parents, which is normal.
I have one friend who wears dolce and gabana, has a racing car, but still lives at home, and he has debt. The lesson? Live cheap, live expensive? you decide, but you cannot spend money you dont have, getting into debt is easy, but you can always avoid it if you prioritize well.
When you study, your focus should be on getting a degree, fuck your car, fuck your clothing, fuck your fancy drinks. Your nr1 investment should be a degree, after your education you can do whatever you want, or when you have spare money and if people cannot accept that, get some other friends. There is nothing more destructive than spending money you dont have. You have to change your situation, because even money cannot fix moneyproblems, you have to change your attitude. Your income should always be higher than your expenses. 10 loans will not fix it, on the contrary. And wth you are 23 and studying? you should worry about a girl or an exam, not debts and maxed credit cards.
Good luck and get rid of money burning behaviour;)
ps: dont spend so much money on your girl. Women want to be emancipated, if they have the same rights, they can pay 50%. Luxury behaviour will be gone in no time. You can give her cheap presents, if she doesnt appreciate it, fuck her! she can make her own money. I have no money, i surprise my gf with a McD icecream and she is 23. Now im graduated and i'll start working in 1 month and earn €1900/month. She appreciated me when i gave her a 1€ icecream, i dont mind paying for the house we started renting this month, i have the money now. If she was nagging about money all the time in the past, i'd say, stay in your shitty study appartment;)

School here is 8k/yr or so, without books or living expenses. If a student wants to come out of school with debt they have to basically work full time to survive and pay for school.

i know the american system is different, thats why i say you have to live cheap, i was only pointing out it is possible to survive without much money.
But then i read he has a 23000$ car and credit cards maxed out and spending 400/week, all avoidable expenses. It is difficult enough to survive with the student loan, dont get debts to pay for your 'operational expenses'. Getting a student loan is shitty, but the lender knows you need the money to study and sees it as a investment which will return when you graduate.
Thats why graduating should be nr1 priority, even more than in europe. When you fuck up in europe, you are left without a degree, wasted money and time, but at least no debt. I can imagine it is not super productive for your studies when you constantly have to worry about extra debts.

well I wouldn't really go out to a club either, most would probably be a pub and even then I wouldn't like it as i'd be around lots of people drinking and smoking.
ps if you don't like expensive shit then do not ever go to france

try a 27 year old Corolla , and i have to do like 70 or km's every weekend starting october .. now i have to buy a fucking new radiator , another 100 or so euros 
i spent about 1300 to get the fucker fixed properly and i'm never gonna get my money back.
i could have bought some piece of trash that was brought from italy or germany that needid more investing , so i figured fuck it . i did my MOT i couple of weeks ago , man , some people bring the trashiest cars from the west .
most friends of mine have cars that were gift from their parents , some people's prents bought out loans to get those cars , but in my case .. fuck no , if i want a better car i have to "earn it myself" , and some of them could buy a car for me and both my brother , but fuck no , i have to share that shitty toyota .
