Yeah glasses are so insanely expensive , I bought mine 4 years ago and thankfully they're still doing good..otherwise I would be screwed. -6 and counting here, which makes me almost blind..without them (and the beloved lenses) I wouldn't even be able to distinguish a cow from a person xD

Lol, you are one of these people. My flatmate bought Porsche-designed frames for 250 euro and they are exactly the same as regular frames for 1/10 of the price. Nothing unique, they look and feel exactly identical as mine. Why do people waste so much money?

And now i think what i meant with "limit" on lenses. I thought it was the -2.00 number , but that isn't related to my sight, but to how the contacts are made.
I.e. , if i read it correctly anyway, it says :
BC 8.8
DIA 14.4
POWER -2.00 (Right) and -1.75 (Left)
CYL -1.75x100 (Right) and -1.75x050(Left)
with the right ones being significantly stronger then the left ones.
One thing is for sure, wearing only 1 contact sucked
i got my first contacts like 6 years ago, before that, i pretty much walked through life, only seeing blurs lol. My last glasses i had when i was like 14 or something. So for like 10 years, all i saw was blurs. Luckily, i was able to see good enough what happened on a pc screen (sitting like 15 cm in front of it haha) and even play competitve fps' like cs and quake on a national level , but anything that happens further, is just blurry. And fuck, i remember when i first got the contacts and walked outside the opticians shop and looked at the trees and the streets etc and i was like "oh my gosh, look at all those details !"

i had the same thing when i got new glasses, didnt realize how bad previous ones became. i remember looking at houses and be amazed how sharp the edges were.
I have no fucking clue how it happened. I've noticed a crack in the frame yesterday, so I went to a shop and ordered new glasses. 165 € for the frame from Ray Ban and 229 € for the glass (394 €). I'll get my new glasses in about 10 days.
Anyway, today the crack got worse and the left glass fell out of the frame, fucking piece of shit. I'm using my contacts now, because I can't see shit without my glasses . -3,75 on both eyes.
Ive had my RayBan glasses since 2001. Since then they have fell countless times, Ive slept on them, sat on them, stepped on them, kneeled on them and still they are somewhat in tact! When I first bought these I had no idea what the hell RayBan was I just thought they looked cool. It turns out that Raybans are extreme durable

I was at the local "Fete de musique" (fete of music) and during a grind core concert no less, i got an elbow into my eye (glanced more then anything, so no damage there), but it took the lens right out of my eye.
And while it flew out, i followed it all the way down to the grass (outdoors), like in slow-motion lol (maybe because of the xtc i took earlier haha) and vanish there. Went down with a lighter and couple seconds later i found it, moist it a bit and back into the eye. People around couldn't believe their eyes, that i was able to find it in the middle of the crowd (but everybody saw me and they made a circle around me, while i was on the ground).
Why would you wear such a dirty lens ? Gonna protect your eyes at all cost. Who knows that kind of bacteria might get into that and it might fuck up your eye in process.
I wore safety googles for about a month when I had my Lasik done. Especially on the subway where it's super easy to get something in your eyes before they completely healed.
And what kinda killer bacteria you think live on grass lol ?
If you were unlucky, a fox could've taken a piss there in which case you could now take out the lenses and replace them with forks, cause you can't possible do any more damage to your eyes
