Support can't do anything?

I suppose they could. This incident seems isolated enough, just so it's hard to point out who's the culprit.

Like any shady market, there are risks. You take a risk, and more often than not, you are rewarded. From time to time this happens. All part of the game.

Sure, but you can minimize the risk by trading with guys who have a lot of rep etc, and this guy did have quite a lot.

First time it happened to me also, and I traded quite a lot both with TF2 keys and PayPal money.

Oh, that motherfucker, such a vile move Crying or Very sad I'm sorry Neon..
I'm not familiar with this market, but is there a way to contact the support team and let them investigate (since there have been precedents) about this whole thing? Or do you need to provide some super-solid proof like screenshots and chat-logs? (and they probably still won't care) Sad

OBJECTION!

Kick em in da nuts! Laughing

Sorry to hear Neon, that's why I stay away from trades. The couple of bucks aren't worth the risk to me. Only time I risk it is for otherwise unobtainable deals for me. Like the Riddick deal. I really miss out on some great deals at times but yeah I'm stuck on keeping myself in my comfort zone.

If you still want to go for deals, maybe go to people others have used on this forum. There must be some trustworthy regulars out there no (yet you'll never be 100% sure)?

if you trade keys for a giftt, and the gift gets revoked, contact valve... if a legit trade is done through their trading system, they will reverse it.

if its tf2 keys for a serial, you have no protection Sad

good luck Smile

from valves trading FAQ:

Quote:
What if I redeemed a game from a trade that is fraudulently purchased?

If this happens, the account where the fraud took place will be suspended. Your account will not be suspended, however the game you redeemed/unpacked to your account will be removed. We will restore the items/gifts that were associated with the trade that you performed to receive the game. If you did not trade any items/gifts for the game directly then we are not able to restore anything to your account (i.e. if the game was a gift). Please contact Steam Support if a game that you traded for is missing from your inventory or account.
