got a consult with surgeon next week. they put me on pain meds but they are only working so so, can call them up and upgrade to traumadol tommorow but its not the nicest of medications apparently.
the meds i got do somewhat work for the tooth ache, its there but at least i can think straight.
Did something very stupid though, in a desperate(so desperate lol) move to numb the pain I smeared ppc paracetamol/asperine directly on the gum and cheek...bad move....woke up this morning with huge burning pain and huge swollen cheek..acid burn ftl and the swelling hurts like a bitch

I cant imagine anything worse....
Im not allowed morfine based painkillers on account of my sleepapnea, so im stuck wit hthis shitty naproxen. Cant even imagine the pain after the procedure without morfine based painkillers.

If you've got a toothache you need dental treatment. It's mindblowing to me how people can just sit there with a toothache which is your body telling you that your tooth is fucked and you likely need a root canal or some other work done.

The worst thing with most dentists these days is despite the crippling fear some of us feel, most don't offer general anaesthetics any more. Local only :\ |
They can still use some stuff that is hardcore. I don't know what in particular they can use but depending on how serious the work is they can give you some medieval shit that makes you loose feeling in your entire face.

This is why you need to book an appointment at least once a year for a check up / xray. This way the dentist can see if you have any cavities in their early stages and get them taken care of before they turn into massive carries / needing a root canal.

thats the thing though, I have no massive cavities afaik, or even small ones.
last checkup was 8 months ago where he filled a cavity. Its that exact tooth thats causing the problems now, looked for chips or cavities as far as I could myself and didnt find any, and it never hurt before last friday. (except for 2 weeks after he had put in the filling)
wondering if something went wrong there and it kept on decaying below the filling

ugh, that was possibly the second most traumatic (dental)experience in my life so far lol.
figured theyd have me come back monday after having taken some oxypazam or other anti anxiety drug as there apparnetly not allowed to do this while you sleep/sedated unless its life threathening or you wait 3 months. and sort it on monday, but the guy on call wouldnt let me leave with the abscess still there. took him 30 mins of convincing(well not really convincing, he just scared me into a corner and pretty much wouldnt let me leave till I said yes, had said no like 4 times before but he kept hammering) Guess he figured it was really serious and couldnt bear it till monday or something.
but its done, going back monday to close it up and remove what they put in there.. feels so goddamn wierd(next to the pain). also made an appointment to get all the other crap sorted in january. will be out for a while seeing as its like 5 teeth that are getting removed(3 wisdom teeth and 2 molars) but dont ever wanna go trough this again lol

thanks mate.. half the nightmare is done.
checkup went ok. still hurts like hell and ill keep the infection till the tooth is removed, but its hella lot better then how it was lol,
going back 12feb to get 4 wisdom tooth removed and 3 molars, quite a bit of work : / *shakes fist at mental medication that shit will wreck your teeth*
its a shame ima lose this molar that caused the problem, 7/8 months ago i paid like 150 euros to get it fixed, dentist guarenteed me it was savable, surgeon checked and he(the dentist not surgeon) apparently messed up the cleaning before filling it : / money well spent lol

Im a bit of the opposite with the pain med type, Id rather be awake so I can talk to the fucker if needs be, check what the hell he is upto. Also I have this sick likeness to local injections, the cracking noise it can make when pushing that long spikey needle through the gum line and deep under the teeth I kind of like, crack! crack! crack!.. then 5 mins later ahhhhhh!

What the fuck is your mouth made of? I haven't had single cracking noise while getting injected. |
Its probably a sensation more than a crack noise but it feels like the needle breaks through the gumline or something, gives feeling of it crackling as it goes deeper in lol...

lol... Another abscess it seems... on the lower left molar. Its my own fault... I changed the surgery appointment in in march because I was going on a holiday(my first in 11 years).. they could only fit me in in july, but since all the work that neede to be done I requested it be done after gamescom(13th august) lest I not be able to go.
I figured I already had my karmy slapping with the creditcard fraud thing... apprently I was wrong.
again... its my own fault for putting this off. but I had a great deal on the vacation and yeah.. was the first since I was a kid.. and nothing was wrong at the time..
the ironic thing is that the new abscress is in @ the lower left wisdom teeth down below a bunch of gum. The upper side of that has most of the damage in my jaw... the lower side has bare none... UGH
I have been using alot of homemade medicine stuff. Clove oil. oragena oil, oil pulling, garlic(works wonders!!) etc. the pain is very managable to non existant. the only annoying thing is the protruding molar(not the wisdom tooth but 2 teeth in front of it, seems the pressure seems to culminate there) and I cant clench my teeth together.
Hoping I can make it out till after gamescom managing this(I would give alot to have 2 painless gamescom days)
Plx no OMG UR OWN FAULT SHUDDA GOT IT FIXED.. ^ is the situation.. it was postpone it or miss a holiday I had been waiting on for years =(

Just spend 3 days in the hospital lol
had managed to heal the abscess after which it came back with a vengeance as a much more aggresive strain of bacteria, and my head was a ballon within 2 days.
Got there thursday morning, had 10+ trainees feel me face up(since it didnt hurt, and this was apparnetly quite rare, I had every trainee on the department swinging by to get a feel lol)
after bout 30 mins the big cohoona of the department came in, took 1 look and said "emergency surgery in 2 hours, youll be staying with us for a while"
I had taken a diazepam on advice of my local docter to help with the anxiety of getting cut in my mouth, so glad I did lol... had I not I would have probably jumped up and run off screaming.
at least most of the work I had to get done was done immedeatly too(as they had to take out infection source as well). they removed the drains before I left just now but the wounds are still leaky leaky.
all in all the hospital wasnt bad at all(except for the damn heat and lame beds that dont work well when its warm and you end up sleeping in a puddle of your own sweat >_> )
Had really blown the general anestetic thing out of proportion in my head as it was done as quick as pie. the only thing that sucked was out post-op room. youre usually there for 30 mins or so till the painkillers kick in. they had to try a bunch of different ones but after cappong on the dosage and 2.5 hours in that ward the pain finnaly started to go away a bit. Havent felt much of it since.

Fucking ttooth ache again... Unbearable pain, last night the meds atleast allowed me to sleep a bit but they dont do shit anymore...
And Im more afraid of the dentist than i am of heights or anything else...
They give me stuff 30min before operation but it literally only worked once when i hadnt slept at all last night and fell asleep on the chair lol.
Every other time they only make me feel like im drunk or something, just really confused but still scared as fuck.
I really wish they would just put me under and pull every single teeth out in one go...

Try biting a clove of garlic. It helped me a ton when I had toothache.

because he delivers more pain before he does his magic that, with luck, makes the pain that brought you into his office go away after a few hours/days. also the judgement you recieve, you just know they think badly of you for beeing a dental nomad (not only the doc but also the mostly female staff).
the second you enter the dentists dungeon, you should get 20mg of oxycodone, that way i would defo come in more often
