java.. is a .. scam ?

please elaborate

Przepraszam, all and all You've only benefited. I didn't go the way you planned but that's good. Starting from the bottom is the best thing you could and can do.

If you don't manage to find a position where you can develop you should join ANY project with people on the internet, that way you'll have something to add to your portfolio, you'll learn how to work with people (repositories, work flow etc.) and you'll get extra morale if you find the right people.

software development is a really amazing job if you like it.
very rewarding and very different from what I heard over the years (for the better).
It's worth it.
good luck!

You don't want to read the comments on german tech sites if they post anything with java in it.

"Oh yeah, java is so slow and.. yeah I deleted java but I want to play minecraft.. I completely disabled javascript, just to be sure.. Java is dead.. Big companies don't use Java.."

Well, I just got positive replay and will be doing two weeks test run with them. They will help me get started on some test project.

been there. I've got annoyed to shit when they made me fix the "test project" infinitely.

But that's how I found my proper job, I had something to add to my resume.

So either way gaining experience is good.

I completely ignore all German tech sites, mainly because of the incredibly stupid, ignorant userbase. The english language communities seem way more professional and informed, be it gaming, technology or industry news.

I can't believe it has been a month already. I learned so much last month, from making my own controllers(MVC) to later display stuff, to writing my own javascripts. It has been pretty kick ass getting exposure how real stuff operates.

It sucks making minimum wage but I like it so far, I hope they will offer me a permanent position but I doubt since I'm their third intern in past 6 months.

I'd like to learn how to code properly. I took codeacademy courses, but they are for beginers and I'd like to learn more. Also not by reading, but by writing and trying to code (like programming should be done)...

The amount of people who mix up Java with JavaScript is too damn high!!

Udacity has a 3D course for Web development and they develop with three.js/Javascript.

Cool Smile

All these languages have similar structure and syntax. JavaScript, Ruby, Python... At least that's a good thing, no? Very Happy

Any more advanced stuff online?

Oh, I know you didn't mean threejs, I was more at the learning javascript thingy and udacity is generally quality stuff so even if it weren't for the 3d, he'd still learn some js Smile
