Completed the adventure, got "World's End" ending... And this is completely different from the movie. It can't be Edmunds' planet unless game follows some alternative ending
They were going there under the assumption that it could sustain life. They don't know how planets work. So to them it was plausible. They go by data that's given.
Not many dumb things were there. It was all to progress the story.
Not many derp moments. One maybe if anything.
Most made sense to me, but scouting the planet where 1 hour equals 7 earth years was just braindead stupid and they knew this upfront. Even if that planet would have been able to sustain life, humanity on earth would have been long extinct by the time they had established a base camp.
Not really plan a was to go, get Intel, get out, go home
So their be there quick and run plan would've cost them a bit, but still would have enough time to go back and save. Plan b would be all nope let's spend a week and scout on this planet. so it made sense. Yes it's derp. But it was to get Intel and come back. So 7 year derp derp lol boobs doesn't work if you pay attention. They also made sure they didn't waste years hovering the planet.
Did I miss it or did they skip over the whole time-travel-ghost thingy which was the, you know, essence of the movie and which made absolutely no sense at all?

Still makes no sense however you explain it. They choose to go there to win(!) time. They could've just as easily travelled to the other planets on a minimal of fuel using that cryosleep thing and still arrive lots sooner than 23 years.. you don't need a lot of fuel in space anyway.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
Is a good explanation to grasp a bit of the ending (I'm still hung up on the paradox )
Really? He basically gave no explanation at all - "oh he was in a higher dimension so it was all ok". Not to mention the paradox, or the stupid thing with the watch or any other number of details.
His friend was a "scientific adviser" to Nolan, so I guess he didn't want to hammer him.
well sustain life and sustain human life is a different thing... and fucking frozen planet with frozen clouds is a no go for me...
Well don't forget, Dr. Mann falsified data and explained that there was a surface on this planet that wasn't affected due to the Chlorine not reaching it. Don't focus on the correctness of that... but it does explain that he was picturing them a habitable planet on the surface not a planet with frozen clouds and an ammonia atmosphere.
I'm not defending the movie per say, but I see a lot of nitpicking and whining that's actually caused by people not paying enough attention at the talky bits (granted the dialogues weren't that great at times ).

He gave you the idea behind how a 5th dimension works and how that the blackhole scene could be explained... And like I said: a bit of the ending. No one touches the whole paradox thing, most viewers don't even mention it (which irritates me ).
Btw you need to put some thought of yourself into it, the watch was the interaction of McConaughey with the 4th dimension... why the watch? so his daughter knew it was him. (that whole bit was meh to me and I think I would have enjoyed the other script better tbh, but it is what it is)
The whole friend thing... that's just silly.
Anywho there are enough videos out there to explain the science behind the movie, go watch them and decide yourself if they satisfy answering your questions.
None of the videos even begin to explain that, central, part of the movie. As I said Neil's "explanation" really can't be called that, all of that could be formulated by a child - "it's a higher dimension"... whatever. And the watch, omg the watch, it's so mind numbingly retarded. How does the gravity "encode" data into the watch? How does the watch keep on doing its thing once Cooper stops affecting it? If Cooper had such a control over gravity why didn't he just pick up a pen and write something down? Why didn't he just tap onto her hand or something? There's a whole bunch of other stuff that is just as dumb - he wanted to stop himself from going yet he gave the coordinates to NASA - again, he knew the word "STAY" didn't work out yet he did it all over again. He came out of a black hole and still at the same age as Brand etc etc etc
The movie itself is not bad at all, I give it 7/10, some really nice acting and special effects, but it just tries too hard to be taken seriously.

Lol wat?
Stay bit was emotional cause he lost all hope and thought that it would stop him
Then he thought he had to do all that stupid coordinates shit to finally understand that it was him doing it all along. To understand how to send a message.
The watch thing he didn't 'encode' a message he was typing out a message and a second hand is a constant moving part that he could manipulate using the strings of time to send a message. It's not retarded. And since it's something she would obviously come back for... And the watch doesn't continue doing its thing... He stops when all the data is sent. That's it. He can only affect whatever is in that room.
The other dimension part is awesome. Needing explanation for that when straightforward dialogue explained it all. srs? If you want more explanation take on physics at school lol.
Man... lately when I see the word 'butthurt' I ask myself: do I miss stuff?
I thought there was just a discussion instead of peoples feelings getting hurt.
So.... overused word or me being too daft on recognizing butthurt?
