As much as I hate to agree with you, I have to agree with you this time about TR being more interesting... I thought it was better overall and less Rambo than Uncharted for some reason... Well actually the reason was, less corridors with endless ennemies...

So just finished uc1 and 2.... and must say Iam disappointed.
Maybe i got to play those games too late? i mean graphics and music are still very good. Plot and characters are also what I would expect but man. ... The tedious shooting... all the time. Shooting and shooting and shooting. Next area and shooting. And 20 more dudes always appear when you think the fight is finished. .. not what I expected after listening that uc2 is the best game ever.
I clocked about 8 hours in both games and I think thousand or more kills in uc2 alone... and is way too hard. Had to lower the dif later in both games
The sad part is that everything else is great. I liked characters (tho not as much as binary domain or gears) but they felt created to fit this Indiana Jones style only. They are memorable and nate is great anyway. Scenery is epic, action sequences and destruction too (train!), plot was stupid but to be expected.
But the damn shooting. It took 90 percent of the game and is not even done well. It's loose and feel kinda bad.
I feel cheated on. This game feels like it is gears. But at least gears does everything it promises. You expect huge dudebro soldiers to shoot the whole game and You get it. Plus shooting in gow is actually much better and fun to do. It's jungle poor man's gears od war.
Oh and not sure about uc3 but gow story is much better and actually very complex. I really wanted to get into gow lore much more.
And ffs.... nate kills 50 soldiers like it's nothing and then have to give up because one dude with a gun is targeting at him. .. many times.

Srsly... just finished killzone2 and there was less shooting than in uc2. 777 killed helgast while in uncharted2 it was about 900 enemies.
killzone promised me this and Ive got what ive expected.
Uncharted not only lied to me about what it is, but also was too hard and stupid... Let me explain.
In killozne enemies had better ai and most importantly came out in places where it makes sense while in uc1 and 2 You go into a ruin which You just opened for first time in thousands of years and emeny army attacks You in an instant plus ak47 are everywhere... uc is a load of bullshit Oh and there were more puzzles and downtime in god of war3. Fantastic Game btw.
gow3, kz2 or gears for that matter all had more common sense and not lied about what those are.
uc says adventures, mysteries and ancient artifacts ecploration on the back of the box. It dis that but not enough. It haveb way to much of badly implemented shooter.
not to say that kz2 was all that great. It was sluggish in controls but raising sensitivity helped a little. It lacked in narration and was just too chaotic overall.
gow3 is the best ps3 Game I've played so far. Btw i am taking about this because I've just got ps3 and playing all exckusives and uc had it heights but dissapointing it was. ..

surely I must not be the only one who thinks that shooting in uc games is bad and there is way too much of it?
the game still was ok. But more like 7/10 and not 10 it got from most

Sorry fo errors. Writing all this on a phone
Setpieces are great. Melee is very simplified and out of the question mostly because there is rarely a time to use it. During melee qte, I usually died from gunfire so I felt stuck in cover otherwise i got shot instantly. Stats are not lying. Ive spent 2 hours in cover.
I like gears games better. Overall in almost all aspects. Minus judgement. That is a pile of shit...
and I would argue about graphics and art. I like gears better too. Uc1 was all jungle. Uc2 had much better variety but i guess I am more of a scifi guy. Cities, architectural design, monsters, characters, all of that was just fitting my taste in gears games. most of uc2 cutscsens are rendered and then people claim it looks fantastic and dont know about rendered cutscenes 
But i have to admit. Uc2 had some fantastic looking and playing moments. If it just wasnt this dull ambush after ambush shootout and... oh no there are soldiers in those catacumbs too... and monsters !
gears is purely a cover shooter but it does it all right. Controls are great, graphics, atmosphere, characters, all there. Its just for me. I know many people hate the series.
and how does killzone2 fair with the two? Ibwould say that it had the best motion blur ive ever seen and best character design of all 3 series. Neither gow or uc faces looked so good as killzone. Garza, sec, natko and even rico looked very good. More realistic like. Tho facial animations is other thing... not bad still. Kz2 was enjoyable mindless fun tho.
yo sum it up. I am very eager to plac uc3 and see where it goes and maybe replay uc2 on easy sometime in the future and look at it maybe from a different angle now knowing that uc games are not what i expected.
As for killzone... even tho ive enjoyed kz2 i am not too eager to play kz3. I will buy only because i have ps3 for limited time... if i wont buy it.
i do want to replay gears trilogy tho. Shame only 1 is on pc but i have to play it on 360 not to ruin sequels in comparison..

Most people will tell you the third game is worse, personally though, I preferred it. I finished the third but got bored of the second.
Although the third game is chock full of quick time events though which are seriously annoying.

Actually it had that metroidvania feel (collecting items which unlock new paths) which I always find myself loving. God of War 3 also had some of that and totally loved it... man how good it looked. shame no pc version

Funny I enjoyed more TR but cuz of the characters actually !
Also, my favorite of the new trio is TR anniversary, because of its puzzles. Legend has too much action going on while Tra has the perfect balance.

Just playing uc3. It is sooo much better ans fraphics are outstanding. And they really hot animations to another level

I'm not surprised. Uc3 was my favorite too. I think people that preferred uc2 had the nostalgia factor and that's why they have great memories of uc2.
I played all 3 about the same time, and uc3 was the better one.
Wait till you reach the plane crash phase, you'll he amazed by it.
Also make sure your game is fully updated : 1.00 has motion blur off and you want to have it enabled !

Ofc i updated and the game looks amazingly smooth. The fantastic motion blur really helps to smooth out the 30fps. It's one of most smooth 30fps ganes along with alan wake, gears, killzone2 and dark souls.
... if You know what i mean. For example heavenly sword feels like total 20fps ceap.
Shame there are plenty of jaggies but not in all scenes.
Btw. Just booted up gears1 for comparison yesterday and the damn game still holds on great. Imo still looks among best. I will have to replay gears trilogy after that.
But back to uncharted3. Really good pacing and finally more puzzles, climbing and less army man

No, Uncharted 2 was a good run, while Uncharted 3 was a good game as well the end left me horribly disappointed. Nothing worse than anticlimactic endings.

part 1 was like a indiana jones movie , part 2 was a incoherent mess using Tarantino presentation style , and part 3 was more a shooter with big explosions and derpy moments and a story line that tried to be a 1:1 copy of its phenomena that Uncharted created
people wanted a Indiana Jones game ... part 1 delivered that , when part 2 was nothing more then a love story and 3 was like a Bay movie of plot holes and dude BRO shooter ARMY OF Two segments 
yes from part to part , they knowledge grew how to fake big environments on ps3
but graphics and shooting are not the core of the game... that you think they are
