Ok, the game picked up now again. finally done with the tutorials and mmo quests 
had some decent exploration, climbing, sailing, combat, and then another boner inducing abstergo scene. 
I don't understand why they don't make a game set in that time period completely. i love watching the sci-fi world they imagined and even reading and listening the notes and collectibles there.

They just have to throw that animus shit completely overboard.
Still find BF one of the best AC's so far.
And the other one, dont know if it was AC 1 or 2, played it a long time ago.

Thanks man, this game doesnt have triple buffering by default, so when you drop 1 fps it gets locked at 30, its insane.
But its the version i have, its just not working, and playing without v sync with 60 fps cap is not fun, i still get a lot of tear huh...

yeah d3d overider is part of windows for me, i don't know why msi and evga don't want to fund unwider to create a newer version.

Just completed the freedom cry dlc and am now done with the whole game.
Overall feeling, meh. The story mode is still basically a tail and eavesdrop simulator with some MMO quests in between. Story was also extremely disjointed and didn't hook me at all.
The main character is an unlikable scumbag, the supporting cast is all pirate cliche's.
What worked though, was the great atmosphere provided by the graphics, sound efects, and a huge world that was great to explore. Ship combat was also great, and finally the economy wasn't a complete joke like in previous games. I actually didn't even fully upgrade my ship because i got tired of ship combat (even though it was fun) before getting enough resources.
So exploration, sailing, the underwater stuff, and especially abstergo offices parts were the highlights of the game. both aveline and freedom cry are too short, but are at least dynamic, so they were pretty fun for the most part.
But in the end, I am left with a sour taste because there's just so much filler, and so much unfulfilled potential. I mean, a simple action RPG in this world and setting, with more exploration, loot, less handholding, and it would be a beast of a game.
They have this great skeleton, but their gameplay designers are either forced to rehash and add filler, or they are just really bad at their jobs. There's very little meat on the bone 
I was planning on playing rogue right after this but no way that is happening. the game exhausted me with the stale gameplay.
6.5/10 on the IGN scale.

I see AC Black Flag is -60% on Steam right now. I still didn't get a chance to play the game and using the fleet would be nice.
If I buy the Digital Deluxe and Season Pass, do I get every single DLC or is there still something missing? (pre-order or promotional stuff etc.)

thats balony, it says on the website the game was added to my library, dont even have the client on my pc lol
or their site is lying and they are scumlords
update , installed client, and wic is still in my library and so are all the other games i claimed via website only

any way to change fov in this game? making me sea sick
and this golden cone triangle in the sky during turial island , can i grab it ? its floating high in tree tops and making a noise. or does it just indicate its a saving spot or something
tutorial really is lacking if u never played the series grrrr
on nvidia i need to force triple buffering on ? vsync is causing massive stuttering when facing inlands

You don't need the tutorial for Black Flag, just press the main button and the awesome happens 
On a more serious note, regarding the FOV I remember that the only way was to use Cheat Engine and a table specifically made for it, though I don't know if it's still available on the interwebs since it's been a while.

Better late then ever but I finally finished the game. I could never get into so much sailing when game first came out but somehow made it this time to the end

So I installed this yesterday looking to scratch the pirate/naval itch and it seems Ubi lost my saves. I opened a ticket and they essentially told me "oh-well" and to back it up on my own. I usually do, but this one I did not.
That said, does anyone have a save I could have/try since going to Ubisoft Connect client? I tried downloading another save game and it just doesn't seem to do anything so I'm wondering if it's the new client they use now. It can be end game as I know I wasn't too far away from it, I just wanted to mess around a bit is all.
Side question - Is AC Rogue a similar experience? Maybe I'll get that at some point.

Not sure about your previous question but the Kenway saga (AC3+BF+Rogue+Freedom's Cry) place a lot of emphasis on ship fighting. Well AC3 not that much since it introduced it but the latter 3 have a lot of it.
1 and 2 are still amazing. |

You will most likely need to use save converting tool to convert to your uplayid, but sadly i don't think i keep one yet. Just using another user saves won't work 99%
