No PeeCee

Well we already have "definitive edition" Wink Jujging just by their quotes
Quote:
So now a new group of people can play Dishonored, and it will continue on through this console cycle. The graphical enhancements bring this version up to the level that GOTY players get on a high-end PC.

If you played on PC and missed any of Dishonored’s content, Dishonored GOTY Edition features all the game’s content (DLC included) the way it was intended to be played.

A game from 2012 can't run on the "next-gen" consoles @ 60FPS Laughing

Must be probably due to the huge open levels that you can traverse in 30 seconds from end to end...

Well, some devs and gamers alike have been crying lately about their beloved 30fps when a certain steam curator was created to list those 30fps games, I guess greedimax felt the need to give them a little love Laughing

It's like living in the gaming Onion, only real. Laughing I suspected that there wouldn't be any major improvements graphics-wise because of lazybeth, but if the lock for the couch is true, well

where's your cloud now

(Therefore according to nowadays logic many people not only will accept that, but they will also defend the decision.)

Finally decided to clear the expansions for this game from the backlog.

An hour in, and I can tell that it's gonna be great all the way.

Forgot how beautiful the game world is and how smooth the gameplay is.

And runs amazing. playing at 1440p with SGSSAA is just glorious.

If only all DLC's were this good.

Yeah, the DLC was great for me. Actually bought the DLCs when they came out, and only played through both when the second one was released.

Yep, in many aspects the DLC was superior to the base game. Having a voiced main character (Michael Madsen) was key to that.

Do you need a savegame for the DLC? I can't find mine anymore. I must've done a full wipe of the game instead of keeping the saves.

it seems the levels are more challenging as well, but I might just be misremembering the base game, since i've completed it around release time.

@Drowning_witch I remember people had heavily tweaked files for different improvements back when the game released (+ SweetFX and what not). Do you have all of that for the latest version of the game?

no, i'm using 1440p downsampled to my native 1680x1050+ 2s SGSSAA (wanted to use SMAA injection with it as well, but it causes a flickering bug unless you disable SGSSAA, and that's the best form of AA that exists), which makes the game look amazing. absolutely 0 jaggies. 4xSGSSAA is a bit too much at this res for a 970, and it won't keep constant 60 fps.

this is what the game looks like with the above settings.

Completed them both today. Both have 3 missions each, with the first 2 being great, and the 3rd one a bit weaker.

Kind of like the thief 1 monster levels. good, but not great.

Overall though, fantastic content. The whale slaughterhouse in particular was a phenomenal level.

The mood captured in this mission is just brilliant.

Then, the thief 1 homage mission where you get to break out an accomplice out of prison, and 2 classic Dishonored style, 3-4 hub levels in the city. Lots of choices on how to end the mission, a ton of approches. Never quite reaches the complexity of thief 1 and 2, but compared to games these days, it's a labyrinth Laughing

This time I made full use of the powers, and I gotta say, the game is definitely more fun this way. I played the original like thief games, and it just wasn't as satisfying. the game is clearly designed for blink and other powers.

Definitely recommended content, and one of the best examples of how DLC's should be.

High or low chaos? Very Happy
(There's a couple of other modifiers too and this also goes for both parts of the Witches DLC so there's some replayability in addition to randomized runes.)

Haven't played DLC yet, but i finished with low chaos. I like to sneak, but i did get the feeling like it was not meant to play that way. Knock someone out and leave the area, and everything works out? yeah, right.

Yeah, but characters kept saying i went on killing sprees etc, and it was laid out that you should at least kill your target, if not all the enemies on the map.

Have to agree with you here. Only did the knife of dunwall yet, but it was amazing. Much more immersive than the original game.

Yeah, i'd say that overall the DLC's for this were better than the base game. Hopefully Dishonored 2 will be on the same level.

If it's open world, it will be disjointed and relatively empty like 100% of the open world games. 100 times better to have properly constructed levels with a good story with it.

Never really cared for them back then.

I guess you are meaning these two DLCs?
- The Brigmore Witches
- The Knife of Dunwall

Any place to get both cheap, at best for under 5€?

The way you approach them will impact the ending. As from where to get them cheap, you would probably manage to get a a better deal by buying the GOTY Edition. Sad

yep. classic bethesda. DLC's prices and discounts are always weak compared to the goty version.
