1. Nope, it won't.
2. No, it's not. Great game?! Sure, if you have to chose between The Sims and Reach... Great polish?! Don't make me laugh! ... Laughing

FINALLY done with it on legendary. damn that was fucking aggravating! not to mention my box finally red ringed for the first time and i had to keep babying it through each sitting.

people can say what they want but that towel trick works but it's just that, a trick. doesn't last long at all but it will get you through in a pinch.

towel trick can really mess up the possibility of performing a proper fix on the console. Now if you just needed the 360 to work until you beat Reach and then you're tossing it, no problemo, but if you just open it up and do the x-clamp fix on it, you can get a lot more life out of it.

hopefully i haven't messed up then. i had to do it about 7 times and last 2 i let it run until it shut itself off from the heat. if i can get this other box jtagged and functioning it wont matter to me anyways. thanks for the info though - i knew the towel trick was a barely a temp fix but didn't know it could cause problems with a proper fix.

No, you are still propably going to get flagged (and hit in the banwave)

Speculate away, nobody knows.

Well, i modified my games to wave 2 or 3 whatever the ixtreme 1.4 could run and i didn't get hit byt the banwave. I tried to be as careful as possible, so I find it safe to do whaterver you want as long as you never go online the same session as you have been playing a pirated game.

That's his grandson. In a parallel universe.

Also, that guy sounds black, I'm saying he sounds black because he is the only one from your team that doesn't take his helmet off. Maybe because his helmet is too cool.

Good game overall, but having read the halo: fall of reach book I'm a bit disappointed with the depiction of the spartans and some story stuff. the spartans seem too much like your regular soldier in spartan armor somehow and the accents make no sense.

gameplaywise it was great fun to play through this in coop though. nice worthy addition to the halo franchise.

I platyed some earlier and to be honest, I feel like I'm back in 2003 or whenever the hell H1 was released. OK, the graphics are better than Halo 1 2 and 3 obviously but the gameplay is just as dated. I can't understand how this game got such rave reviews.

i guess cause it's halo. i dont get it either - call them what you want but you're using the same weapons. unless you play on normal it takes 5 or more headshots to peel the shield off the enemy and sometimes it seems to take 3 or more after that to drop them.

i just dont "get" it - its the year 2500whatever and mankind can travel through space but they still using bullets to fight aliens?

it's because the covenant only recently appeared. the only thing humanity was fighting all those hundreds of years was humanity, and we all know that bullets are awfully efficient at killing humans. so that's all they have.

sure if you wait a couple of years I'm sure the humans could have come up with something that works better against covenant shields, but for now, they're just not prepared.

and yeah sure the gameplay is similar to halo 1.. that's why it's halo. it's supposed to be similar to other halo shooters so can you really fault it for that? it has some enhancements but at it's core it's the same, exactly the way that sequels should be or you'd start pissing off fans (see mass effect 2)

It's OK if somethings similar, but it has to evolve with the times. The Halo franchise has remained stagnant.

So i dont have hacked Xbox and the reviews for the game are everywhere almost perfect 10 but yeah those reviewers are awfully wonky these days. Every Halo game is like 10 in their mind even if it would contain happy ponies prancing on the fields and leprechauns chasing their pots of gold... ok sorry whatever. ANYWHO is it a buy or not. New games these days are mighty pricy so thats why im asking it. Ofc i have to get Gold too for this thing because to truly get the full experience then MP is half of it.

Depends on where you stand with Halo games. If you liked the other Halo games, the I guess you'll love this one. If not, you might want to wait some time until the price drops to a point where you think it's worth a try.
Anywho... check this GB Quick Look of Reach. It might help you with your decision.

Halo Reach hit store shelves this week, and already Microsoft is touting it as the best Halo release it has ever had. In fact, the game generated $200 million in revenue for the company. Since the launch, the game has been extremely popular on Xbox Live. And most folks that have had the chance to voice their opinions on the title have said that it’s an outstanding offering that puts a fine end to the Bungie-developed Halo franchise.

But all the laudatory comments and gushing over the game just don’t work for me. I’ll be the first to admit that Halo games are fun to play. But for me, Halo Reach – and all the hoopla surrounding it – is what’s wrong with the gaming industry.

Let me take you back to the 1990s.

During that decade, the gaming industry was a much different space. There were a slew of developers and none were big enough to be called dominating players in the market (potentially with the exception of Sega and Nintendo). At the time, game budgets were small, and the industry itself was a niche market.

And yet, it could very well be the golden era of gaming. It was a time that was led by extremely unique and fun games. It was also a time when the allure of corporate profit gave way to the desire of a handful of people in a room to create a groundbreaking video game. Indeed, it was still a business. But it was one that still coveted and cultivated originality.

Today, the gaming industry is nothing of the sort. It’s dominated by a handful of companies that want to quickly turn a profit. And they feel that franchises are one of the best ways to do that. In the process, they have effectively forgotten about the unique, fun games of the past and stuck with what gamers know.

That’s precisely why role-playing games are hard to come by today. It’s also why so many one-off titles that catch a cult following, but fail to hit the mainstream, are never heard from again.

Admittedly, there are other elements to this argument. Major developers will only stick with franchises that do well. And, for the most part, first-person shooters, sports games, and other action titles have been selling well. Thus, developers are feeding the beast.

It’s also worth noting that there are still unique and fun titles in the wild. But as far as I’m concerned, there aren’t nearly as many as there should be.

So, as Halo Reach gets all the accolades that most gamers say it deserves, I’m left wanting more. The game might be fun to play. It might be a great step up over predecessors. But to me, it’s everything that’s wrong about the gaming industry. The game is part of a major franchise. It’s yet another first-person shooter. And it doesn’t push the industry forward in any measurable way.

To some, that might be a good thing. But I disagree. And I hope that as time goes on and the gaming business becomes even bigger, more companies see value in bringing back the old days.

I’m not too confident that it will happen. But I won’t stop hoping.
