It's only for Warband, but I've spent hundreds of hours in it. Nothing draws me into Bannerlord like Warband or its mods, but I have been waiting for 1.0 to do a proper playthrough.
But even then, I doubt 1.0 will mean much in terms of a complete game
Haha yup, as much as I'd like to finally give it a shot, I'll definitely wait as it's still very much work-in-progress. The big mods will need more time as well, and those are typically the main pull factors.
Hm, found this list of 'missing' features(?) on a local tor... ... on a local.
Quote:
-no feasts or events.
-no claimants/usurpers
-randomly generated companions < jeremus
-no promised gang/brigand playstyle
-villages don't count as fiefs, only useless castles and town do.
-no upgradable villages
-no manhunters
-no naval combat
-RtR system from Warband discarded, a clown could become a faction leader overnight.
-no books or trainers.
-no hitmens targeting you/random encounters like the belligerent drunk.
-no lords consipiring on each others, no duels. 0 political intrigue.
-no political quests and denouncement quests.

I watched that Lex Fridman and Todd Howard interview not too long ago and they were talking about this sort of thing. I can think of so many applications with text, voice and art. I wish I could peek into the future ~10 years, it's going to get interesting.
Meh, I am pessimistic about this. It will turn the same as the AI in F.E.A.R. Back then it looked so promising and everyone was dreaming how advanced it will become in 10 years just to have dumb trash enemies in every AAA game. Of course combat behaviour AI is much harder to make than this chat bot but I doubt there will be any more progress with it.
At best this AI will be bought by Microsoft or Bethesda to use it in the next Fable or new TES and/or w/e 2-3 other games only for useless dialogues like in the video above and never get improved.
It mostly depends on the complexity to implement it.
I was similarly disappointed to play Ultima 7 and thinking "cool, this is the new standard now." to only realize it was a one of a kind game for like 10 years, and then slowly it was getting momentum to implement NPC schedules, day/night cycles. but we are still not there when it's a standard, even the companies that used U7 as a template eventually just abandoned it (like Larian).
So yeah... but chatGPT is talked about a lot, people are super curious and find it incredibly cool to play with, even the "mainstream", my father who's 80 talked about it (lol). A game with it, yes, it will sell copies based on just that curiosity alone.
ChatGPT will just be one in many API's i hope, just like we have hundreds of text-to-graphics API's now.. most of all we need uncensored version of it, just like we have for graphics now.
It's a realistic game without spells, companions, gear and millions of different types of damage. Of course WoW and all other fantasy RPG's won't be able to have this many players fighting together. It probably still lags with a full server.
why do i need gog galaxy/steam for multiplayer ? i dont remember this being a thing with original warband. can galaxy players play with steam players ??
(i refuse to buy steam anymore cause they dont support old OS anymore)
