there were at least 2 scenes where we laughed a lot, but 80% of the movie is kind of shit imo. 5/10, maybe. kind of similar to the new naked gun movie, its shit, but when it was funny it was actually really funny in a similarly very immature way. they just need more funny content and they both would be quite good comedy movies.
this is very, very typical of modern comedy, you get like 2 really funny jokes per movie, rest is just a waste of time.

Sentimental Value - 7/10
Slow-paced and introspective, with some genuinely good performances from the Norwegian ladies and their Skarsdad. It's not a grand movie thematically speaking, but it has proper character development that makes all the little dynamics and dialogues feel meaningful.
The Rip - 5/10
An interesting-ish premise, ruined by the writing progressively getting dafter until it reaches parody-esque resolutions near the end with B-movie-like fuckyea action scenes and frequent exposition through flashbacks/repeated lines to make sure the average Netflix viewer doesn't get confused.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. One of the more unique horror movies i've seen. Kind of like a mix of Frankenstein and Clock Work Orange. Has matured a lot over the previous movie.
I don't there ever was a dull moment. 8/10

Killers of the Flower Moon 5.5/10
The Brutalist 4.0/10
Two overtly long mostly boring pieces of cinema, made solely for the critics and award grabbing.
I want those 7 hours back.

War Machine (2026) 6.5/10 Obviously heavily influenced by Predator.
It bugged the hell out of me how the female managed to pass such a rigorous training course.
Or was she playing an effeminate male? If yes, why this character even exist in this movie.

Caught stealing 8/10. I really can't understand the rather low ratings for this movie. I immensly enjoyed this flick, more than I thought I would. Rating might have to do with this being labeled Comedy, which is defintely not right. This is a gangster movie, reminded me of the old Jason Stathom UK ganster movies, in a good way.
The life of Chuck 5/10. Oppositive to the above, liked this less than I thought I would. I like all of Flanagan's other works and was really looking forward to this, but this somehow went nowhere. Not sure if the non-chronological order did it any favors.

Thank you for enlightening me. I still think she or them had no place in the role she or them had in this movie.
Also the alien sphere grenades were very underwhelming.

One battle after another: 5.5/10
I felt like this movie didn't really knew what it wanted to be.
Soci(et)al commentary? Tarantino-esque? Cohen brothers wannabe?
This "let's be all at once" resulted in a movie that was all over the place, with a lot of unnecessary scenes and ridiculous plot-holes that would work in one style but not the other.
The whole message was either too on the nose or never delivered, due to the conflictual given: the US became the equivalent of the Confederacy?
But it has sanctuary cities? Non-Whites are understood to be second-class (especially the Blacks) but yet are being treated within the (real-world existing) boundaries of law in one case while (implied) torture seems acceptable in another? "Dirty wetbacks" are in the police force but also ghetto'd while seemingly wanting to willingly take the risk to immigrate there?
This whole alternative reality is inconsistent at best.
A few comical and/or well shot scenes here and there coupled with a few funny moments were good enough after a long day's work.
I give it more than 5 because it managed to keep me watching.
Wouldn't recommend nor watch it again.

Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die
A super unhinged movie, like a mix of some absurd satire and Black Mirror.
Rockwell simply slays, worth watching for his performance alone.

Just finished watching it, I guess we would have to ask the director/writer, but I don't think they meant it to be some alternate reality just some delusional, exaggerated view of the current real world. Not a single likeable character BTW, well, maybe the kid for the most part, up until she got the mother's (retarded) bug.
Anyways, after watching this I'd rather see Sinners winning the Oscar to best movie today, at least that one had great music and style (despite ending up being all over the place plot-wise).

In the Supporting Actor category, Sean Penn took home the prize for One Battle After Another, winning his third Oscar
For Best Director, there were no surprises: Paul Thomas Anderson won for One Battle After Another. After 14 career nominations, he's waited a long time for this night.

It's not really alternative reality just an extrapolation on May 19th Communist Organization. Of course everything was exaggerated for anti far-right retoric.
