Anyone know a place to get a sub 50 bucks steam key - all i see is overpriced shops (close to retail or above) or cheap fucking MS Store/RoW (Latin America) keys... I dont think that game is worth more than that.
Yeah ive checked those and its all xbox/ms store when its around 50, havent seen a steam one yet under 67 which means i can go directly to steam and get it there... maybe i will do that depending how bored i get in the near future.
"In this video I take an in-depth look at the river technology in Crimson Desert from the perspective of an environment artist. Having previously worked on river development for Red Dead Redemption 2, I’m especially interested in how Pearl Abyss are pushing water simulation forward and what makes these rivers feel so believable.
This is not a gameplay or story video. Instead we focus purely on the environment art, terrain design, and the water simulation technology that makes these rivers the most impressive I’ve seen in games."
"Topics covered:
• Water simulation vs traditional flow maps
• How Crimson Desert rivers achieve realistic flow
• Terrain design and believable river construction
• Simulation optimization techniques
• Interaction between characters, objects, and water
• Why I regard this as the best river tech in gaming"
Always believed the water looked awfull but the problem is it looks shit at a distance (the way you normally look at it) and good when you are in the river. The devs have to do some serious work to fix this all.
They just cancelled the DLSS update cause it looked shit.
Fun game though. But it's just a mixed bag. I don't care realy, i'm having fun.
Imagine that one day they will release a game that does everything right. The questing of Baldurs Gate 3. KCD2's immersive authentic world. The perfect combat of your favourite game. And with the enormous world and shitload of content that this game gives you. And it all works like it should
I hope this day will come someday before I die.
They downgraded a dlss model to preset e from d so naturallly it looked bad. Im sure it was done to stifle some fps complaints, but this isnt hownyou do it. Maybe they can try implementing dlss properly first. If i enable frame gen it breaks the moment i enter a menu or press pause. Then i need to toggle it off and on again.

That sucks. DLAA and 2x framegen is working fine for me.
But they realy fucked up DLSS. This is the first game ever i'm bothered with how DLSS looks.
I believe people modify the sharpness of dlss for better results also. Im shelving the game until the most grievous bugs and feature errors are ironed out so i don't know the details of that.

Can't you inject the latest DLSS model by yourself? Or does that only make things worse?

I think the problem is within the game. There is to much optimisation going on for dlss to give a decent picture. This game has to be run in 1440 native. 4 k is better. The higher the resolution, the less artifacts you’ll get.
That said the compromise you’ll get without dlss runs pretty well with decent graphics. It works, as long as you don’t use dlss for upscaling.

You talk about dlss version. But i think you can also use nvidia app or dlss swapper to also change rr, dlss etc presets. I havent tried for this game though. It neess some patches before i bother
...so for those playing: how is the level design, any cool fortresses, dungeons?
my favorite open world RPG of all time is Elden Ring, the level design there is just amazing i think, though sometimes it does feel a bit MMO-like, which takes away a little..

Is this even close?
What level design . You’ll go to a base and face an endless storm of mobs. Haven’t seen any real dungeons, but i’m only 50 hours in.
This is a bad game that’s somehow fun to play. World design is awesome though.
seems like the game does not really have dungeons, apart from small rooms. that's a bummer. though sometimes it can be nice to just have a cool overworld too.
it pretty much seems like TEMU Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom hehe, but without dungeon world... though of course, Zelda has a very specific type of graphics which, to me, isnt super immersive, though it can look quite beautiful in a cartoony way.
