Do they? I don't know, not like I know any of them. The few bits that I've seen from Evans doesn't make me think he has.

If I were to go by only listening and watching entertainment by people with a good/great personality... well I had to drop a lot of things. Razz

Surprised that Chris Evans agreed to this. MLB is much more popular outside of the U.K. And will be earning tonnes more before you know it. Evans will be a side kick in a years time.

That said, MLB is super lolz, it's great news, can't wait.

i think clarkson is great... hes fun to listen to, i like how little of a shit he gives about things, and the dynamic between the three originals is fantastic and i think its going to be impossible to recreate with the new hosts.

I think there will be a huge amount of interest when the show starts up again, but it wouldn't surprise me if they end up canning it as numbers drop when peoples curiosity about the reboot goes away.

Jeremy Clarkson's Amazon show to be called The Grand Tour

“Thing is,” said Clarkson, “we’ll be travelling the world hosting each episode in a different country, from a giant tent. It’s a sort of ‘grand tour’, if you like. So we’ve decided to call it The Grand Tour.”

Clarkson, Hammond and May are the sole reasons Top Gear was good, so I don't think it'll be meh.

BBC's upcoming joke called Top Gear definitely will be.

well that deflated me a bit.. grand tour isnt all that catchy, really.. and if its built around the gimmick of 'different location each time', it feels like it wont have the same sense of 'home' like top gear did (with its warehouse/lounge set up, and their test track)

Also it sounds like a traveling show... it doesnt really scream car show to me.

i mean its cool theyre doing something different, its just... ehhh

i just hope they get up to a lot of crazy as hell stunts and challenges and adventures, and ill be happy.

What chiv is saying. To me it sounds like now all you get is their specials... which were nice but every week the feeling of a special doesn't sound so special. The home feeling/familiarity will be gone.

You don't have to bring up Top Gear for me though, I'll watch the first airing (curiosity to see how bad it will be) but so far what and whom I've seen makes me not interested at all.

The only thing that might make Top Gear watchable to me is Matt LeBlanc. He is a car nut...and a nut. Like the former 3 stoo...presenters Razz

I can't stand Evans though, so he'll probably be what ruins it entirely for me.

Regardless, it definitely will be a very different show.

Well let's give it a try then. Razz

Edit:
Halfway in and its pretty meh. Screamy carrot top is as annoying as expected. Not really any chemistry and the humor is underwhelming. Content itself feels like they are trying too hard, kind of expected that though they need to hit the floor running.

He's trying too hard, as expected. He's trying to be Clarkson. All new Top Gear? Not quite, they are very much trying to keep it as it was.

That said, Matt comes across much more natural as expected. Sabine, again as expected, is nuts, I'm sure she will be the most recurring guest. Just wish Evans wasn't the lead.

I did like the little catering stab at the start though. That was good Laughing

I'll keep watching it for a while longer, see if it gets better. Fifth Gear was really shit at first, but it became much better. Very different from Top Gear, but a good show in its own right.

so much cringe

and im only about 12 minutes in, jesus shitting christ theres still 50 minutes of this left.

----

oh god STOP SLAPPING THE EXPENSIVE SPORTS CAR YOU CRETIN!

----

I honestly think even though he seems a little awkward at times, i COULD actually see matt taking the lead presenter role in this, PURELY based on this first episode. He seems more natural, infinitely more likeable, is pretty easy on the ears, and comes across as more genuine. Once he gets past the initial episodes and finds his groove, he could be quite good.

man.. wouldnt that be a thing... that other idiot gets fired, and an american headlines a british car show Very Happy

wouldn't exactly be teh WORST thing ever, given the asshat they picked to currently headline it...

I only liked Hammond before, I now only like Matt, so all is good for me. I'm not a fan of the show though, I watch the sexy cars. I always thought Clarkson was a dick (how was he funny?) and most of the show was about the three stooges instead of the cars.

Yeah, having just 2 guys feels very off. The red head is really bad though. He tries TOO much! Matt should take the lead Smile

Problem is that the BBC is all behind Evans, even though he's been nothing but trouble so far - just as much as Clarkson was. I'm not sure Matt will even stay.

Matt seemed either very hesitant and trying to fit-in/annoyed by his co-host or he was genuinely nervous as he loved the show before. I hope it's the latter and he opens up in the following weeks. Evans is just hot air :/

Think Leblanc was nervous/annoyed, even his humour fell flat most of the time. Not saying he's the funniest guy but normally he's not this bad.

Sabine, never really liked her that much (she's okay)... but at least she is a proper racer and it is nice to have someone like that around. Makes it a bit silly though when they put Evans up against her.

Wait what happened to chris harris? Wasn't he going to be one of the hosts or was that bullshit?
He's maybe the only person around who is a good speaker AND actually knows his stuff when it comes to cars. He drives/drove in blancpain or wec I forget and has a big yt channel if you've never heard of him. Shame really.

He is on the after show, called Extra Gear, actually pretty good and much enjoyable than the main show.

Does that ginger have to keep screaming all the time? Ffs, control your audience and shut them up quicker if no one can hear you over their applause...

Oh cool. I gave it a watch, wasn't bad at all. Hope they give more time to harris driving around like a hoon and commenting on car characteristics and features in the future.

Gave the main show a watch too. Thought it was awful and skipped most of it but I never really liked topgear in the first place. Old one was much better this this though. The fuck was that top gun thing? Jesus...
Everyone except the guy from friends was irritating and had no charisma at all. That and the pathetic staged humour is enough for me to never watch it again Razz

that whole sequence pissed me off.. like hell he out-maneuvered her. it made the whole thing so fake (its always been a very scripted show, but it never felt THIS forced), just to puff up the new lead presenter and make him seem awesome... which only makes him seem more inept that they NEED to do that just to try and make him look better.
